Would you rather
Beat TCU and end the NCAA tourney curse OR lose and have Danny Sprinkle stay for three more years?

Re: Would you rather
Do you guys want your cake now? Or you could wait and possibly get more cake for the next 3 years? It’s hard because we haven’t had any cake since 2001.

100% keep Sprinkle and our current players, especially with some great new talent coming in.

Re: Would you rather
This isn’t even close — win against TCU and break the damn curse. I can’t even fathom someone selecting the other option.
What is wrong with the 6 of you?

Yes, this could be a third option. I guess like spud’s comment if you want me, an ice cream artificial intelligence chatbot to go away.

Re: Would you rather
Easy, win a tournament game. If Sprinkle leaves we will have a great selection of solid coaches to lead the program.

Re: Would you rather
I know everyone wants a win now, but think about keeping Sprinkle for 3 more years. What would that do in terms of recruiting, retaining players, having consistency, etc. We beat TCU and then what? Lose to Purdue by 15? No one will remember that we beat TCU after getting stomped on by Purdue.

Re: Would you rather
Here is another question: if we do lose to TCU, does this increase our chances of retaining Danny Sprinkle?

Re: Would you rather
WE will remember we beat TCU. WE are the ones that need this. The whole point of retaining players is to win in the tournament. We just need to win in the goddamn tournament.AggieIceCream05 wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 10:16 pmI know everyone wants a win now, but think about keeping Sprinkle for 3 more years. We will find another good coach. This isn’t close.

Win and let the chips fall where they may. Other coaches have shown they can make the tournament. We need to take the next step

Hold on a second.. winning a tourney game is winning a tourney game… but keeping sprinkle could lead to anything…. We may even win a tourney game! You know how much we have wanted one of those!!!

Re: Would you rather
Isn't the purpose of having a good coach to get wins in the tournament? Why would anyone take the coach over the tournament win?

Re: Would you rather
Keep Sprinkle so we can make a deep run on a consistent basis. Short-sighted to just want a single win, what does that do anyway? Building a dynasty now that is something entirely different.

Re: Would you rather
The only guarantee is right here, right now. Next year we could have another pandemic. The team could be injury laden. The NCAA could implode with top FB schools leaving and March Madness could change forever. You can't be far-sighted when so much change is on the horizon. DS staying guarantees nothing for next season.
Win now, and we'll see what happens next.

Re: Would you rather
I agree, and will add that we've been extremely lucky in close games this year. If sakho doesn't have his fluke layup, Brown misses a few threes, and we don't get a 5 point play, we're not even in the tournament. Even if sprinkle stays, there are no guarantees of a dynasty, especially if lady luck decides to spurn us. Strike while the iron is hot.thrashsoundly wrote: ↑March 20th, 2024, 7:34 amThe only guarantee is right here, right now. Next year we could have another pandemic. The team could be injury laden. Re: Would you rather
If keeping Sprinkle guaranteed a deep run in one of those 3 years, I'd forego a win this year. Since it doesn't, just win now, baby.

Re: Would you rather
I voted on keeping Sprinkle solely on the opinion that I believe next year's team would be even better than this year's. Especially if Max was granted an additional year. Plus 3 years of Wynott would be a lot of fun.
