It is bummer that Boise State got him instead of us, but it keeps Boise State being a good team in-conference which helps with the NCAA tournament.

Interesting choice for Cardenas. I would have thought he would have some good offers.

Boise State has had by far the most continuity in roster and coaching staff and in my opinion fell short of expectations for last few years. Aggies have accomplished much more with way more volatility around the program.

So how can you be one of the best in mid-major basketball and probably not top 5 in the MWC last year?

In no particular order, here's who I would put ahead of him:
- Brown
- Stevens
- Blackshear
- Thomas
- House

And that doesn't include possibles at SDSU and FSU.

I'm not sure I have seen the signing of an average to slightly above average player blown so out of proportion as Cardenas to BSU. It's mind boggling how much they are trying to sell this as program altering. Almost as mind boggling as having to read about how they will once again be the "favorites" to win the MWC.

Agreed, he is a solid player but was on the last place team in the league last year. I would certainly be happy if the Aggies got him but don't think signing him puts Boise head and shoulder above the rest of the league. Boise will be good but they still have Leon at the helm and will find a way to mess it up somehow.

Their biggest problem last year was they did not have a creator. This helps solve that. They’ll be improved

But don't forget that they also had Max. It's going to take more than Cardenas to make up for no Max. Those are big shoes to fill.

Absolutely. Cardenas is a big plus (one that we would have been glad to have), but it's even bigger for Boise State because Max was a big minus. It's a heck of a swing for them.

Agreed. I really like Cardenas, and that's a great pickup for Boise. But people need to chilllll with the takes.

Even with NBA prospects? I could see it if he wasn’t entering the draft process. Rothstein says with the option to return to SDSU.
