Not sure how much it’s part of his arsenal but that brief clip with the euro step was nice

Dj burns
Yeah his game isn’t the same as Greats and I could see them pairing together quite well. Also, Great could actually get a rest once in a while with some depth at the 4/5.
I like his outside game. Great needs to develop that shot like Ledee did. Next level.

Re: Dj burns
I like the idea of having DJ Burns, Dallin Grant, and Isaac Johnson as bigs with the 3 ball.

This guy is significantly better than Templin, if we had to chose, I’m choosing burns.

I am hoping J. Grant and Burris move on I will shed no tears either way about Templin, Phelps, and D. Grant.BasketballAgg wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 9:52 amThis guy is significantly better than Templin, if we had to chose, I’m choosing burns.

If Terrence Hill recommits Phelps will stay, they played AAU together and seem to be good friends.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 9:55 amI am hoping J. I like both of their games and they bring a level of athleticism that Utah State doesn’t see often.

Re: Dj burns
I posted this in another thread, but it fits here too.
I am sure the team knows what we have in D. Grant and Phelps, but we as fans don’t. If they are real contributors, we have the makings of a really good team. If not, I could see them moving on. I suspect they know where they stand in ability relative to the team, and that will guide their decisions.

Re: Dj burns
Dallin Grant was fresh off his mission (I believe that he got injured on top of that). 3-star recruit that was offered by Stanford, BYU, Utah, and SUU should not be written off so quickly.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 9:55 amI am hoping J. A new coach should mean a fresh start for all the guys. Maybe Calhoun can use guys in ways sprinkle couldn’t?

Re: Dj burns
I am not writing anyone off entirely except probably J. Grant. The others are just yet unrealized potential right now and I won’t cry if they leave. Not saying they aren’t good players or can’t become good players, I’d just have no reason to be bummed if they left.
Re: Dj burns
I’m holding back my criticisms of everyone.
My thoughts last year: Great didn’t start in the Big Sky. Mason and Isaac were red shirts. Javon was a DII player. Darius was only 3rd team Big Sky. Not a MW Championship caliber team.
Hoping for the best with next year’s guys. Hopefully we keep the bulk of the team and everyone makes big steps forward.

Re: Dj burns
I’m just excited that with the rumors of potentially retaining a lot of guys and what calhoun can bring, we have OPTIONS. That’s exciting! To the point of cval and others, we may not know all of what we have and new coach = new start for some of these guys.
Full trust in calhoun and what the makeup of this next years team will look like. Go Aggies!

Re: Dj burns
Your number gets called to go play, you go out and play. I hated the shots he took as well but in looking back I like that he took the shot. He wasn’t afraid, he knew his role in the offense. That was the shot, it was wide open and his game historically is shooting some 3’s. I for one think he can become something if given the chance.shoresy wrote:As long as we can keep NCAA Tournament hero Nigel Burris around

100%. You’re on the floor to play. No room for a lack of confidence. Take your shot.scotlandog wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 11:04 amYour number gets called to go play, you go out and play. Agreed, not to mention he was a good shooter last year. Just hadn’t played all year this yearscotlandog wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 11:04 amYour number gets called to go play, you go out and play. I'm just joking. I certainly can't blame a guy for taking wide open shots when his team needs a bucket.slcagg wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 11:06 amAgreed, not to mention he was a good shooter last year. Re: Dj burns
Burris also seemed like a great teammate and was always going nuts in the bench. I hope he can find his footing here but wouldn’t blame anyone if he went somewhere with some more play time available if everyone comes back

We need kids like Templin who want to be here. I may be in the minority but too many primadonnas does not team chemistry make.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 9:55 amI am hoping J. Re: Dj burns
There is something about Templin that should not be ignored. This Burns guy with Osobor, Ian, and Falslev could really be something though. It’s the kind of Athleticism we need to make the Sweet 16 or better. I don’t care if we have a new coach that is what I expect if we have these players coming in. That would give three possible pro players next year on one team. Darkness has yielded to a bright hope!Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑March 30th, 2024, 11:40 amTemplin is going to be really good.
