SDSU 18th. Boise received 2 votes, NV 1.

Looking forward to not making any preseason top 25s and being projected to finish 9th in the MWC next fall.

Dropped to 22 in the Final Poll which will save USU $15k in bonuses with Sprinkle. He had a $25,000 bonus for being top 20 but only $10,000 for being top 25. That's assuming we have to pay the bonus at all since he terminated the contract before the poll came out.

I have little doubt he factored this into his buyout somehow.

There is no definition for "end of the season" in the contract. However, assuming it means this final poll, we don't need to pay it. Per the contract, section 7.2:

If Coach terminates this Agreement for convenience, then (a) USU will not be obligated to pay any amounts, benefits, or damages to Coach other than Base Annual Salary, Incentive Compensation and/or benefits earned, due, vested or accrued PRIOR to the date of termination under this section; and (b) Coach shall not be entitled to receive any further compensation or benefits under this Agreement which have not been earned as of the date of termination.

However, we don't know what "end of the season" means. Is that the end of the regular season (i.e. before MWC tournament)? Is it the end of the regular season and the conference tournament? For instance, the NCAA tournament itself is considered to be postseason play. Is it after March Madness has wrapped up? Given that the rankings continue throughout March Madness, it's reasonable that the final ranking for the year would be the determining vote, but it's hard to say. The contract doesn't say "the final Associated Press Poll"; it says "at the end of a season."

BYU finishes season near the top 25 rankings. Pope may be getting looks from Kentucky. Every 4 star Utah kid may be looking to come back home to BYU.

Utah State finishes season with votes as well.
