He’s already fired by his fan base. He probably won’t last a year. This is Harsin to Auburn

Cal took off, they didn’t offload him. They were already 0-3 on their attempts to replace him.

I guess. I think Kentucky was ready for a change. This is Kentucky basketball, they expect final fours on an annual basis, not first round losses to 15 seeds.

The meltdown will put USU’s recent history far on the back burner.

Let’s go hard after Isaac Davis now!! He almost came here anyway. They're an Aggie family.

I want to believe this, but I feel like they could do MUCH better. On the other hand, early tournament exits seem to be the pattern at UK. I guess it does make sense.

Can the Kentucky hiring process be passed down to BYU. First coach up to release a statement is Mark Madsen.

Biggest winner is Utah State.
BYU is in the last second phase of finding a coach which will create chaos for BYU.
Kentucky players and recruits are going to flood the big-name schools which allows other players to fall through the cracks.

Mark Madsen just signed an extension, is making $2.4 million and has like a $6 million buyout.

BYU certainly has the money, but we'll see if they're willing to part with it...and if Madsen wants BYU.

Stuff like this is why I was pointing out that Pope leaving BYU was a big deal.

Isn’t Pope the only reason why the USU - BYU game hasn’t happened the past couple of years? Would be fun to have it back on the schedule. Literally zero reason not to.

After Mark Madsen, the LDS coaching pool is as shallow as a kiddie pool.

They might be screwed with their limitations.

THe timing is really bad for them which is just fine by me. The Aggies have had to hire several coaches the last few year so i won't shed a tear. My guess is they go hard after Burgess at Utah as well as Alex Jensen.

I did and you know what? BYU fans are surprisingly taking this pretty well. I followed the bread crumb on what they found on the Kentucky fan forums, and I have to admit those forums were so vitriol it made Cougarboard look like angels.

I don’t think that Pope is that great of a coach, so byu might honestly get an upgrade at head coach even with the limited options. That being said… I would love to see their entire team enter the portal. It will keep with the tradition of them being the second best team in the state.

Seriouslly...

Cummard is an assistant for their Women team...

Lewis is a high school coach now.

Burgess is probably the best bet but has zero head coaching experience.
