OOC since '18-19

Post by Aggie702 » December 23rd, 2024, 1:36 pm

It's impressive to review our OOC win/loss record since Craig's first year to see how good/dominate we've been in OOC over the last four coaches. And it would've been even better if we never scheduled BYU. They've been most of our losses in OOC since 18/19.

2018-19: 10-3, with the three losses vs Arizona St (on a neutral), @ Houston and @ BYU
19-20: 13-2, losses were vs BYU (in SLC) and at St. Mary's. This was also a unique year with 16 conference games and 15 OOC games
20-21: this was the weird covid year. Our OOC was 3-3. VCU and South Dakota St beat us in a neutral tournament, BYU beat us in Logan
21-22: 9-4, with home losses to UC Davis and St. Marys, a loss to BYU and a loss to Iowa on a neutral
22-23: 11-2, with a home loss to Weber and vs Southern Methodist (neutral)
23-24: 12-1, with a road loss at Bradley
24-25: 10-1, with a home loss to UC San Diego. Going to 20 game conference schedule means only 11 OOC games. Yes, we're 11-1, but one win is a conference win against Wyoming.

From Smith to Calhoun, we've lost 16 OOC games the past seven seasons (including this one), with 5 of those losses coming at the Spectrum. Overall, BYU has accounted for 4 OOC losses, St. Mary's two.

Non-conference teams to win in the Spectrum since 2018: BYU, UC Davis (wtf lol), St Marys, Weber, UC San Diego. All 5 losses were by 2 (UC San Diego, St. Marys) or 3 points (BYU, Weber, UC Davis). We rarely lose in OOC in Logan, and if we do it's a very close game. Smith lost one OOC in Logan, Odom three, and Calhoun has one.
