Re: Even Year...
I love opening day! It is like Christmas to me. I am a huge Cubs fan! I have my concerns with them, but I hope and think they can do it this year. They need a good 4th starter for the playoffs and 1 more solid bullpen guy imo.
Go Aggies!
Re: Even Year...
I dont think this is the Cubs year, partially because I hate them (cards fan), but also because last year they were abnormaly healthy. I dont know if they can have same luck this year especially in their rotation. Arrieta has been a mediocre pitcher for his entire career and threw alot more innings than he had any other year, can he maintain that for another year without his arm falling off. Lesters getting up there in years and has alot of mileage on his arm, Lackeys like 38 can he have another career year in a new city? Can all their young sluggers avoid injury as well. When the league figures them out can they make adjustments?
Call me skeptical, but i see this year going down like the Nats did two years ago when they were the greatest team ever assembled, but ultimately crashed.

I'm not biased. I mock everybody.

Re: Even Year...
Seeing as how the Cubbies and Astros are my two MLB teams (I subscribe to the belief that you get one in each league), a HOU-CHI World Series would leave me as happy as I could possibly be. I would probably get a tattoo of the occasion to always remember it.

Angels are my AL team. Houston looks awful good, amazing how they got someone so quickly.

Re: Even Year...
I just got to see my Cubbies paste the hapless Angels. Cubbies are going to be good if Lester, Wilson, and Lackey are half way decent.

Re: Even Year...
Lackey is pretty much finished. Lester is good unless he has runners on.

I grew up a Cubs fan, but haven't cared much about them for a decade or so. Still, anytime the Angles lose is a good time. Keep it going.dyedblue wrote:I just got to see my Cubbies paste the hapless Angels. Cubbies are going to be good if Lester, Wilson, and Lackey are half way decent.

Things are already happening to the Cubs, the fat young power hitter is out for the year.

Re: Even Year...
The cubs have a solid lineup with or without Schwarber.
Heyward, Rizzo, Bryant, Zobrist & Fowler. The Cubs are not going to lack lumber this year

Re: Even Year...
Rizzo and Bryant are studs, if age doesn't intervened, so is Zobrist is also, Heyward is inconsistent and Fowler has a great glove but mediocre bat.

Re: Even Year...
Look for Mets to drop off and maybe Giants. Pirates are still good enough to be a wild card and challenge Cubs for the division. Pirates will advance this year to the NLCS. St. Louis is always good but hopefully they will drop off.Imakeitrain wrote:NL East: Nationals

Looks like Atlanta and Minnesota can be ruled, kind of surprised by the Twins.
