BYU
Just wow!
No one expected this 1-7 with 0 wins against FBS teams. BYU is our hated in-state rival, but they are having a really bad season. Comment below on your thoughts about this.

Re: BYU
I think what you are watching right now is the beginning of the end of BYU. I think that the quality of recruits were already going downhill, mostly due to not being able to win instate recruiting against Utah and honor code issues. This season will officially flip any of the other recruits that were considering playing for them. Every time sitake does an interview the dude sounds completely defeated. I also think that independaence is starting to kill their program as well. I don't think their football team will ever go away, but I think their day in the sun is over.

Re: BYU
BYU fans have no one to blame but themselves. They ran Bronco out of town for going 8-4 or 9-3 every year for their savior Sitake. Bronco would have had this team in a bowl game. I feel no sympathy for their plight and they can drop football for all I care.
On a side note, I know for a fact that UVU had high level talks about using LaVell Edwards stadium if they add football. Maybe they should look to buy instead of lease.

DId they run him out of town? I imagine getting paid 3 million + at Virginia was why he left.dyedblue wrote:BYU fans have no one to blame but themselves. Nobody should disagree. byu is one of the worst coached teams in the country. Maybe Sitake will do better with a difference offensive coordinator next year.jackmormon wrote:Many here will disagree, but I am really happy that we hired Wells instead of Salami Kitake.

Re: BYU
He left because he hated their fans. His wife had some very harsh things to say. Yes he left for money, but they drive him out and were stoked when they heard he was leaving. They were especially happy to see Anae go as well.

Can we get this thread moved to the general sports forum? We have a great aggie game that just happened to talk about, and a bunch of people just want to talk about byu. SMH

Yeah. Let’s get on with discussing what we can complain about after a loss to Boise next week.swishh_15 wrote:Can we get this thread moved to the general sports forum? We have a great aggie game that just happened to talk about, and a bunch of people just want to talk about byu. SMH

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

You'd want Sitake? They just got their @ss kicked by the worst defensive team in the country. They are quite possibly the worst D1 team in the land and you'd rather have their coach than ours?2004AG wrote:I disagreejackmormon wrote:Many here will disagree, but I am really happy that we hired Wells instead of Salami Kitake.

I think long term byu will be good unfortunately. He recruits well and he is able to motivate. He probably just needs to hire better coordinators. I hope he fails as bad as anybody but I’m holding judgement for another couple years.
Wells won three games last year, and so far four this year, I think I would hold off the smugness that Wells is the next Nick Saban. Hell, it’s taken Wells four years to figure out who the QB should be when most of us already knew two years ago.

Re: BYU
BYU is going down hill fast. Mormonism and organized religion is becoming less and less popular. The number of kids wanting to go to a repressive religious school to play football is going to continue to dwindle.

Re: BYU
I will give Sitake credit for one thing, since he took over there, the thug element and cheap shots has vanished, at least publicly.

I think you may have some irrational exuberance. Will you turn on him after a few bad games? You should prepare yourself, Because they are coming.Aggie in Hawaii wrote:Jordan Love >>>>> Mangum.

Re: BYU
No. He had a bad game against Wyoming and I still wanted him to start this week. I would actually be surprised if he has a good game next week. He is a freshman and is going to take his lumps. I believe he is better than Myers and if you include the benefit longterm of him starting this year, I think it is a no brainer.jackmormon wrote:I think you may have some irrational exuberance. As far as him being better than Mangum, I'm not really saying anything crazy here. Mangum has been pretty awful this year. I'm certainly not saying Love > Falk or Love > Rosen or anything like that.

Literally no one is saying, or has ever said, that Wells is the next Nick Saban. Nice strawman.2004AG wrote:Rumors of BYU’s demise are premature.dyedblue wrote:You'd want Sitake? Re: BYU
If only the person who started this thread could have warned us that the subject was about BYU. I bet everyone who clicked on the BYU subject line was tricked into thinking it was going to be covering highlights of the Aggie game. Come on people! When you start a thread about BYU, please make it more obvious for the blind and illiterate.swishh_15 wrote:Can we get this thread moved to the general sports forum? I won't be one bit surprised if GA ends at BYU in some capacity. Wells is going to be our coach next season.
