"Ballparks are our miniature gardens of Eden, plots of green carved into city streets. No matter how miserable the winter, Opening Day means summer breezes are in the long-range forecast."
I started dating a baseball fan. She tolerates basketball, we watch football together, now I have to learn to tolerate baseball.

I find baseball to be the perfect background noise and a very chill gameday experience. Maybe not for everyone, but it's not really designed to be an edge of the seat event.

And the Giants start out with Melancon on the DL! Gonna be a long season again.

And Bumgarner with the broken bone in his hand after that liner he took in spring training. I do like the off-season pick-ups in Longoria and McCutchen. The offense will certainly be improved.

What a deflating start to the season for Miami. First, they lose Stanton, Ozuna, and Yellich to trades or free agency, then, here on opening day on the first pitch in the first game to start the 2018 season, they give up a home run. Ouch.

What a great start to the season! Go Cubs!

Both the Cubs and the Mariners win (though Diaz tried to give it to the Indians...). Great opening day!

I'm seeing a great start, too! I got to watch the Giants ding Dodgers 1-0, beating Kershaw
and - A's walkoff on the Angels 6-5 in 11

Go Astros!! Earn that Repeat!! Can't wait for the ALCS rematch between the Astros and Yankees -- can Verlander/Keuchel/McCullers/Cole/Morton handle Judge/Stanton/Gardner in a seven-game series? I believe!

I'll take this moment to say again how much I'd love to have USU get a baseball team. I know it's not going to happen for many reasons but would still like it.

Just curious, has this area ever had a minor league team? The population of Cache Valley could support one.

I don't think so, at least not since I've been alive. SLC had the Pioneer League team for a long time, then Ogden and Provo. Probably not enough teams to go around to dump another in Utah. (I'm amazed that Idaho Falls has kept its team for so long, considering the location and all, but thankful that I got to watch them play (lose) so many times.)
Logan's best bet would probably be some kind of college-based summer league team, assuming there are enough communities within a bus ride to put a league together. Might be too isolated for that, but smaller, dumpier cities around here have teams.

Although we are still a starting pitcher away....oh, and one bad manager in Matheny. Still have my fingers crossed.
