Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
Yeah, whenever I saw last year's shirts I kept thinking it was saying "'winning team' my @$$!"
I'm looking these better, I think.

These look great, will be one of my favorites. And for the record, "Winning Team, My @ss" were actually quite fitting for last year (unfortunately).

Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
Looks nice.
Me, personally, I would have put the "Aggies" below the "True-blooded" on the front of the shirt and just had the "U-State" logo on the back but much smaller and just below the collar in the center.

Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
I still need to pick up a special order 3D desk stand from a guy up in Logan. I guess I'll need to convince my wife to make a family day trip up there and we can do some stuff, including getting the new gameday shirts.
Random question, but, does anyone know if I would be allowed to walk my dog (on leash, of course) around campus grounds?

Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
not sure what the actual "rules" are, but there are dogs all over the place up on campus. especially on the quad, but all over elsewhere too. i think as long as you clean up after it and it doesn't cause any trouble (bite someone), you'd be just fine. bringing into buildings is a different story, though. only service animals allowed indoors, for the most part.BigBlueDart wrote: ↑May 4th, 2018, 12:33 pmI still need to pick up a special order 3D desk stand from a guy up in Logan. Okay. Thanks, ShowMe. Yeah, we'll bring the little black baggies and won't take him indoors. Might have to bring a frisbee for some time on the quad, though.

Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
I’d bet there’s a rule that a dog would have to stay on a leash... at my grad school orientation last fall they were bragging about how they didn’t require dogs on leashes around campus and that they were one of very few universities to not have that rule. Still, I’m sure it’s not a big dealBigBlueDart wrote:Okay. Thanks, ShowMe. Yeah, we'll bring the little black baggies and won't take him indoors. Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
We have definitely brought our dogs on campus several times. Like you said, just make sure you clean up. I don’t think there would be a problem playing frisbee on the quad, but not sure how strict the city or campus are about leashes. My stepsister once got a ticket for playing fetch with her dog on a fenced in public high school football field in Colorado in the summer, for something like “uncontrolled animal on the loose”.BigBlueDart wrote:Okay. Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
(Sigh)
I know I'm fighting a losing battle, but the phrase is "true hearted Aggie". You can look up the words on the original sheet music. I know we were still singing "true hearted" back in the early 80s, when I graduated. I don't know when people started to sing it wrong. Check with some of the other old guys, like 78. He'll know.
I'll still buy the shirt, but this is going to irritate the $#!+ out of me.

Re: New Gameday Shirts!!!
All I know for sure is, we as a family sang true-hearted in the car while driving between Cal and Utah once or twice a year through the 50s and 60s. I was shocked and disappointed that the song, along with others like "Are You From Logan" had been forgotten when I started attending games.LKGates wrote: ↑May 7th, 2018, 12:02 am(Sigh)

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Just for the sake of further irritating LK and 78, I prefer "true-blooded" and am glad it changed.

I can tell you why people started singing it wrong. "True hearted Aggie" sounds so freaking weird.LKGates wrote: ↑May 7th, 2018, 12:02 am(Sigh)

Further, in Pedantry Today: it's Scotchman, not Scotsman, in the original sheet music by Ebenezer J. Kirkham, Class of 1918. But I like Scotsman, and true-blooded, better.
Happy 100th anniversary of the graduation of the composer of the Scotsman. If even one thing I create in my lifetime is remembered 100 years later, I'll be a happy man.
Nobody here knows anything.
