If you go to Wendover to bet

Post by GameFAQSAggie » June 3rd, 2018, 2:34 pm

and try to hit one of the longshots on a team to win the championship, always bet at the Nugget or Red Garter which uses the William Hill sportsbook, instead of the Montego Bay, Peppermill or Rainbow. Because the William Hill sportsbook at the Nugget and Garter are alot more generous with the payouts for longshots. I went to Wendover to bet on the world cup and decided to see which book offered better payouts and the Nugget was by far better. At the Nugget I was able to take Panama at 750-1, Costa Rica at 300-1, South Korea at 500-1, and Japan at 250-1. In contrast, the best payout the Montego Bay offers for any of those teams is 125-1. I also was able to take Portugal at the Nugget for 18-1 in contrast to the 12-1 Montego offered for them.

Not to burst your bubble, but there is no way any of those long shot teams win. World cups just don't work that way. That Portugal bet might be nice, though!

I've never placed a bet online. Does anyone care to give me a brief tutorial on how that works? DM me if necessary.

I've got a bet on Brazil and Argentina to win it this year. Hopefully one of them does.

Unfortunately, sap, South American teams do not play well in European World Cups. I think the good money is on France, Spain, or (bleh) Germany. Belgium has as much talent as anyone, and could be good value for the odds. Portugal and England are about as far off the beaten path as I'm willing to go for a team that could win it all.

I just had a guy give me super odds for the U.S.A. to win. I couldn't resist. Go USA, USA, USA.

If they win, I will be dumping major cabbage into USU. Win-win.

He gave me 1-10,000. I put $5,000 on it.

If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, you will be a very rich man.
