Friday Night Lights - Week 0
Welp since all the HS's in the country have gotten together and decided to start school in mid-August now, we can expect many HS teams to start their season this week (known as zero week). So as has been tradition here for many years, post your HS team scores when you have them:

Re: Friday Night Lights - Week 0
Well, the Farmington Phoenices will be playing at Timp (Pwovo) HS for their first ever game this evening.
BE entertains Layton.
I'll submit results when available.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: Friday Night Lights - Week 0
Farmington is my adopted home town. Mis Raices Estain Aqui! The Phoenix lost their first ever game to Timpanogos (not Timpview) 48-7. Hopefully they get that first win next week at home against Northridge. I'll be there on pins and needles for the band at half time (for the first time in my life) as my oldest little geo will be performing. Can't wait. Sorry for the Dad moment
In my real home town of West Valley, Granger High lost a shoot out to Skyline 47-40
Also caught a little bit of Corner Canyon/Pleasant Grove on TV. That Mitchell kid, the big received at Corner Canyon is player. He'll be playing college ball somewhere.

My alma mater, Olympus, beat Cottonwood 47-0. The game was called at halftime for lightning. I can remember a time not too long ago when Cottonwood would have destroyed Olympus.
My father's alma mater and my favorite high school football team, South Summit, beat San Juan 56-13. Once again, not too long ago wins against San Juan were few and far between.

Snow Canyon was down by 16 going into the 4th against Taylorsville. They came back to force overtime and won in overtime with a 100 yard pick six.

Re: Friday Night Lights - Week 0
We were so desperate for some football that we actually chromecasted the Box Elder vs. Layton game from KSL.com at our house (Nephew plays for Layton). Man, that was some really bad football! As soon as it was over we turned the channel and it happened to be Chandler (AZ) vs Centennial (Corona, CA) which were the number 10 and 17 ranked teams in the nation. Watching that game made the previous game look like pee-wee league.

Re: Friday Night Lights - Week 0
Corona Centennial's youth FB feeder team asked my 11 year old son to join their program. One of his former coaches is now a coach fro the 12U team (his son is a legit 12 year old D1 prospect). They are one of the few in the area w/o defined boundaries, so they recruit like crazy. It's one of the reason's why they are also so damn good. Needless to say we were not interested in driving 45 each way for practices.Aglicious wrote: ↑August 20th, 2018, 9:50 amWe were so desperate for some football that we actually chromecasted the Box Elder vs. Layton game from KSL.com at our house (Nephew plays for Layton). Re: Friday Night Lights - Week 0
From the Deseret News round-up for the weekend:
DAVIS 17, BOUNTIFUL 0: Davis blanked Bountiful in a defensive game. Davis did all of its scoring in the first and second quarters, which was all it needed for the win. Garret Larson tossed two touchdown passes: a 61-yard pass to Trey Baggett and a 6-yard pass to Max Tupuola. Will Ferrin had a 40-yard field goal in the win.

I MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO OKAGGIE, BUT BASED ON HOW MANY TIMES HE HAS COME TO HOUSTON THIS YEAR TO GO TO ASTROS GAMES WITH ME I WOULD SAY HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW ME.OKAggie wrote: ↑August 20th, 2018, 5:33 pmFIFYYoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑August 20th, 2018, 8:47 amMy alma mater, Olympus, beat Cottonwood 47-0.
