I hope Jimmer does well
Might be an unpopular opinion. He was a great player in college but never seemed arrogant. Byu fans went over the top with him, but so would we. He has a fun game to watch and has jumped into China head first and deserves all the success he has.

Good for Jimmer. We had Jaycee who was every bit the player Jimmer was and we didn't go over the top. I couldn't care less if he does well or drops 25 in China.QuackAttackAggie wrote:Might be an unpopular opinion. He was a great player in college but never seemed arrogant. He was the national player of the year. Carroll was a better pure shooter though.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
A lot of that came down to hype and the fact that Jimmer had a much better team surrounding him. There have been several people that have done statistical comparisons between them in the past and in most categories, Jaycee was slightly better. If Jaycee would have had the pieces in place around him to make a deep run in the NCAA Tourney then he may have been in talks for some bigger awards.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2019, 10:45 pmHe was the national player of the year. You must not read the Deseret News, then. About twice a week they run a full-length feature on "The Jimmer."aggies22 wrote:I still haven't figured out who this guy even is?

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
I just honestly don't see him being able to flourish on that team. They already have an established scorer in Booker. I don't think they would be able to occupy the same floor without fighting for the ball to be in their hands. If Ferdette is only in when book is out then He wont be able to score like everyone thinks/hopes he can.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
Couldn't have had a more Jimmer like performance. 1-10 from the floor in 24 minutes. Oh, and even Raúl Neto made him look silly on defense.
How good could the Jimmer have been playing for Stew? I guarantee Jaycee would have scored even more than he did because he would have been jacking up 30 shots a game.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
It was absolutely disgusting that the crowd at the Jazz game last night cheered louder for this tool than they did for their own team. Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and Joe Ingles were all asked after the game about the reaction of the crowd. Donovan and Rudy clearly weren't happy and Joe just got up and walked off without a comment.
This tool is NOT and will NOT be an NBA player. Give it up already, the mania died years ago!!!

The guy put up 10 shots in his 14 minutes of play. He went 1-10 with 6 total points. He's a novelty act that only plays well in Utah because of all the BYU fans.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
This is a very bizzare, almost Twilight Zone-esque, turn of events for me. I just spoke to Sam's likely inability to make the NBA - and compared him to Jimmer as far as physical limitations go.
Now Jimmer is in the NBA. Is there a little girl's doll somewhere that is going to come to life to try and kill people?

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
I remember I got eaten alive for saying on the jazz board that Jimmer would be lucky to have a Ronnie Price like career. At the time RP was a 7 year NBA veteran so I didn't think it was a huge insult. RP ends up a 12 year NBA vet and Jimmer 5 years and he's 30...

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
I really don’t get the infatuation with him in Utah. Kuzma is playing in salt lake tonight and def a better pro but you don’t see everyone tripping over themselves for him. BYU fans obsession has made Jimmer like a twilight zone.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
I found it mildly entertaining to watch two "team mates" Devin Booker competing for a career high on the same night Jeremy Fredette was competing for a career low. Watching the Mormon Jazz fans wax nostalgic for Jeremy was pathetic in a different way...the same way they voted for #MAGA and a simpler, whiter time in America.

Re: I hope Jimmer does well
It really is very embarrassing... I hate that I have to be lumped in with this because I am a Jazz fan and a Mormon. The same Jazz fan base that has been accused recently of being racist now has this over reaction to some goofy white mormon kid playing NBA basketball. This type of thing wasn't done for Kuzma, Lillard, or any other talented player to come through college in Utah. I wish BYU wasn't such an embarrassment to everything.

Yes. But just because you continued the Jimmer thread on a USU forum again....918AGG wrote: ↑March 26th, 2019, 11:10 amThis is a very bizzare, almost Twilight Zone-esque, turn of events for me.
