He's not worth $200 cash, much less a trip to Disney.

He will be back to play us this year. They are whining about the harshness of the penalty. I think it is weak.

I wonder how much the outside law firm cost Members, so Emery could experiment with middle aged men in the back of a Jetta

I’m torn on this. The NCAA comes down way to hard on smaller programs including BYU and Boise. I know this punishment isn’t to send a message to Alabama, because the punishment for them would be much, much lighter. All the same it’s BYU so I can’t feel bad, and love to hear their fans whine “It’s not fair.”

BYU accepted all of the penalty besides the vacation of wins. They agree with everything that actually affects their program right now.

Begs the question on if Utah will also get hit by the NCAA.

Their player had a very similar situation, and yet Utah has been curiously quiet and done nothing about it.

USU might be the only clean major program in the State. I'd love nothing more than for Utah and BYU to get sanctioned by the NCAA at the same time.

Is there program affected that much? What does vacating wins affect for this year, next year and over the next 20 years?

They can still be in the post season. I think this is a rightful warning shot over the bow more than a harsh penalty. So I think BYU was treated fairly. With the only real sting being the recruiting penalties and even then most of it was self-imposed.

The person who was treated lightly is Emery. If a kid goes and plays in the WHL they can NEVER play NCAA hockey because they received a minor stipend to play hockey.

This guy recieves a lot more and he’s eligible to play us later this year.

To be honest I’ve always been suspicious of BYU. Their guys always seemed to not be living student athlete lives.
Once- I think it was Hoffman saw a video of him owning a new 30k+ truck, with expensive tires and a solid lift.

I’ve also seen multiple videos of players going on rather lengthy trips.

Also, the ex sounds awful. She’s probably the one that wanted to go to “Harry Potter world”

The vacating of wins hurts guys that didn’t receive improper benefits. Their legacy is tarnished. One guy can ruin it for everyone else. But with hoops- in the locker room- other people either knew or should have known.

Vacating wins is nothing. Everyone remembers the games not the penalty. Are people here going to brag about beating BYU via vacating? Don’t think so.

Another thought, Emery was caught because his wife ratted him out, a good thing. My question is : What other players received payments besides Nick? Seems kind of weird he would be the only one.
