Bryce Harper article on ESPN

I wish the Giants could have landed him long term like the Phillies did. I like Harper, he is a fun player to have around.

It would be terribly risky though to have that much money tied up for such a long term. I was getting mad at the deals the Giants were throwing at their aging World Series stars a few years ago and I think it will hamper SF going forwad for the next few years as well.

I think in a few years Phil’s will regret this, he is overrated , a big box office draw, but never really had a great year.

He won the MVP in 2015. That was a great year. But yes they might regret it. These long contracts rarely work out. Arod with Texas didn't end well, Stanton in Miami and the Angels are certainly having second thoughts about the contract they gave Pujols.
