Danny Ainge

Sounds like he suffered a mild heart attack. Pretty scary for his family. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Hating on Ainge has almost seemed like an unofficial requirement on this board at times. I grew up in Portland, though, and loved the Trailblazers when he played for them. I could never bring myself to join in on the hate. This news bummed me out a little yesterday. I'm sure everyone is willing to put any usual hate aside and wish him a quick recovery, though.

I was born and raised in Utah and I never felt any animosity towards Ainge. He's always seemed like a good guy and I hope he has a very speedy recovery.

I've always viewed Ainge as a whiny little twerp, but time has passed. His guys have nothing but the best things to say about him. This says it all to me:

"Danny is just one of those guys who takes time out of his life, his day when he's doing his schedule, to make sure you're all right," Celtics guard Marcus Smart said. "He constantly checks in on us, my family, and things like that. Just personally, for me, he's been another mentor. For me, from when I first got here, Danny was the person I see every day and am talking to, so he means a lot to my life as well. ... I just hope he has a speedy recovery."

Get well soon, Danny.

I dropped any bad feelings I had about Danny when I saw him at the Spectrum to watch Crew, but was cheering the Aggies even when Crew wasn't playing.

Once a cougar, always a cougar???

Danny’s alright by me, but his cougar roots don’t get him any atta-boys.

Wish him and his family the best.
