Baseball sprint

Freakin Giants! Don't know why I'm upset, i knew they were going to be bad, but with the shortened season, every loss is huge. I find myself interested in the short season format.

I will guess the Dodgers take it all this year, and I will forever give it an asterisk, but that is only because I hate the Dodgers. I can be honest about my feelings. Dodgers vs Yankees in WS.

Dodgers will do what they do - Stack a roster with stars, overpay players and never live up to the billing. They have a great team, but has been the same story for decades. One year they'll prove me wrong, but the 1980s were a long time ago (ahem, byu-p). I personally hope they don't, cuz it's too much fun watching so many of my family members get worked up over it. It's the best part of baseball for me. 😁

I'm intrigued with the Angels - Trout, Ohtani, and Rendon is a pretty tough stretch for any pitcher. I just don't think they have the pitching to go all the way.

Not a good day for Ohtani yesterday. And how in the world did the Giants take two from the Dodgers? I didn't realize how much I depended on the crowds to know where the baseball was in the air before this last weekend. It was fun watching games all day on Saturday.

I'm not really saying anything here - BUT.....
I didn't catch any of Thursday's or Friday's SFG at lad games, but I did catch innings 3-6 on Saturday and 6-9 on Sunday.....

the 8th on sat was pretty shaky for the giants. You must now do your duty and watch all the SF games all season.

I'm pretty sure that was the worst start I've ever seen from a pitcher in all of my years watching baseball. I was so excited to have him back and he couldn't even record a single out before getting pulled.

On an unrelated note, I really don't see how this season works out. We now have 2 games canceled today because 1/3 of the Marlins roster has tested positive for Covid. If baseball couldn't make a season work then I don't see how the NFL or College will make one work either. Things are not looking good for sports.

well, I wish that were an option. its not even noon today and my (I can't express myself without swearing) is dragging bigtime for having stayed up until 1230 to watch the end of last night's game

OH, and by-the-way, I thought A-Rod did a good job on color last night. He was interesting to listen to, and shared solid knowledge without sounding snooty. I loved that he picked up on that HBP being :bs: right away. Slo-mo confirmed, umps still got it wrong!

anyone have thoughts on the extra innings rule? they talked about it during the game, but has it been put into play yet?

I think it's good - especially with the compact season - to do something to reduce long-running games.

The Braves beat the Mets on Saturday in extra innings. I think being the away team gives an advantage in the extra innings. You get the runner at 2nd and 2 sacrifices can get you a run. Then you have the lead. It will be interesting to see how that plays out over the season.

Rockies are in first and have the best pitching so far. Hope it lasts for 60 games.

Not sure I'd say they're the best overall, and no I'm not bitter because they cut my friend Tyler. But I'd take 3-5 teams over the Rockies based on this

Same as every year. No pitching and Upton has got to go. He's worse than Pujols.
