USU Hockey
The Aggies are playing this Friday and Saturday against BYU. 7 PM both nights. 500 fans are allowed in the Eccles Ice Rink, and masks are required.

Re: USU Hockey
Tickets at the door only. Campus Rec’s software has no way to track how many tickets are sold (JV, I know, it’s frustrating them), so fcfs at the door. You may want to call campus rec Monday and see if you can get them in person there.

Re: USU Hockey
If you haven't been to a USU hockey game, you're missing out. There is a reason they have the third highest attendance of any team on campus, behind varsity football and varsity men's basketball. These kids play not just without scholarships and excused absences, but having to foot the bill for their own equipment and travel. They are true STUDENT-athletes, and they deserve our support.

Re: USU Hockey
I made it to only one game as a student and it was a lot of fun. Back then it was too difficult to make it down to Ogden for a game between taking at least 15 credits a semester, working at least 30 hours a week, and playing on the men's volleyball team. Those 6 am practices were killer, especially walking to the HPER in January and February with the wind coming out of the canyon.LKGates wrote: ↑January 10th, 2021, 11:30 pmIf you haven't been to a USU hockey game, you're missing out. One small potential correction (at least back when I played) is our absences for tournaments and such were excused because we were an officially recognized USU club. Almost all of my professors were very accommodating with it. Hopefully that has not changed. Still sucked having to arrange and pay for all of our own travel.

Mostly because none if us were good enough to get someone else to pay for it!LKGates wrote:If you haven't been to a USU hockey game, you're missing out. USU Hockey
It’s hard to beat live hockey. Some sports are just way fun to watch in person and hockey is one of them, especially in a small intimate venue. It is a testament to the entertainment level of USU hockey when they play off campus and have to charge students, and yet still have respectable attendance figures.
I played back in the days of USU’s hockey home being at the Ogden Ice Sheet as well. I recall games against Weber State being over capacity with a loud and raucous crowd. I played only one season due to time and expenses. Being poor, an engineering major, and a newly wed were all factors in an early retirement.

Re: USU Hockey
My kids at USU have all said they prefer going to the USU hockey games over any other sport. They say the games are a blast to attend.

When I played, I graduated in 2012, we had excused absences. Not all profs would accept them though. There were some people in the university and community that weren't fans of the hockey players. I don't know why, we were model students.

Re: USU Hockey
I haven’t been to a USU hockey game for awhile, but I loved going when I was a student. It is crazy that I rarely missed a “home” game when our team played at the ice sheet in Ogden, but I have probably been to only 2 or 3 games total in Logan. I have great memories watching Nate Anderson and company compete against Weber State back in the day.
