NMSU setting a new low

Post by QuackAttackAggie » February 21st, 2021, 5:39 pm

Down 40-7 at home to a D2 team transitioning to FCS. Oh and by the way the d2 team is missing their starting QB, RB, WR, and two OL.

Looking at about 400-100 in total yards ten minutes into the third.

They're actually not at home they're playing on UTEPs field. Only thing worse than getting blasted by a D2 team is doing it at your rival's stadium because you can't play in yours.

Is NMSU playing in FCS a one-year thing or did they drop down?

They're playing as an fbs team against fcs teams. Very strange. I think they only have 5 or 6 games.

Not a bad gig for Doug Martin. He has been there for 8 years or something with Brent Guy like results. Most head coaches would have been long fired with his results but NMSU there is just no interest in football and no expectations.

The big thing that afforded him extra time was the halfway decent season that culminated with a bowl win over us.

That is really bad. I am pretty confident the northern aggies will be able to handle the southern aggies this fall.

Yeah he did have that, but his record was almost identical to Brent Guy through 4 years before that and is 5-20 since that season.

They lost 47-13, that has to be one of the worst losses of an FBS school to a FCS school. BTW Tarleton State is in the WAC now.

Next up, fellow WAC newcomer Dixie (soon to be something else) state.

They couldn’t play in the fall because of the condensed season and probably felt they’d have a better shot at scheduling games in the spring.

I honestly feel bad for them. There wasn’t too much difference between us and them.

But for the grace of the Big East taking SDSU and BSU before imploding, goes USU.

They actually failed to qualify for NMSU when it was discovered that their criminal records were in juvenile court and therefore they weren't sentenced as adults.

NMSU beat Dixie State last night 36-29. Dixie also beat Tarleton State, who first demolished NMSU a couple of weeks ago. Crazy

Congrats to New Mexico State on beating Dixie State. A shoutout to the University and their fans for this big time win. I believe they also beat them in basketball over the weekend. You know you are big time when you get the two sport sweep over the might Dixie State Reb. . . no it is the Red st. . . the Blazers? I don't know what is Dixie called this week?

Racist. Stop saying Dixie. It’s wrong.

The hard thing about playing for nmsu is most of your fans aren't allowed to leave the state per the courts' bail orders. Perk of the pandemic I guess is nobody is attending any of the games anyway.
