Mountain West Streaming just got better.

Post by ProvoAggie » December 10th, 2021, 11:09 am

Looks like they've now rolled out several streaming apps for different platform for any MWN games. Tomorrows should be a good test with the New Orleans game.

Hopefully it works better than the website version and can screen cast cleanly and easily.

The video doesn't have a casting capability directly built in, but when I use Chrome I can cast the tab it's on, and when I go to full screen it knows to optimize the video that's being cast. I'm hoping the native casting support is happening, though.

App not available on my Samsung smart TV. I don't know if other TV systems have it available or not.

I tried it a little Saturday night. Honestly not any different from the USU app as far as the video experience goes. Still no native support for casting. You'll still need to pull the video up in Chrome and cast from there.

I haven't checked to see if the app is available for my Sony smart tv, but then I never use the smart tv features on that. Between the Xbox and the Chromecast I've been covered pretty well.

I found it on my FireTV. Not many USU games on there.

It will have some utility I guess.

It has all of the games that are broadcast on MWN. For football that didn't include anything this year but for Basketball it's been most of our games and includes the next 3 games after the Iowa game.

The streaming on the app while I was traveling was significantly better than it had been before the app.

Just an FYI, this is only for MWN games. Tonight's game is on CBS Sports.
