Funny BYU/Big-12 comment
Just saw this quote online and thought it was hilarious. Regarding BYU's invite to the Big-12: "BYU bragging about going to the Big-12 is like bragging about being the salutatorian in a graduating class of two, after the two smartest people moved away before senior year".

Meanwhile byu fans are talking about being the crown jewel of the big 12. And they wonder why no one likes them.

Certainly lost some of its luster in football, but it will be a great basketball conference assuming there are no more exits beforehand.

so I like hating on the BYU fans as much as the next Aggie, but I wish we had more delusional fans that support USU like there are that support BYU. I am not jealous of their sports acumen, but I am jealous of their devotion

My father-in-law, who attended both BYU and USU, cheers for both but favors BYU. He asserts that Utah has lost by forfeit all of the games that they didn't play against BYU when Utah made scheduling changes due to joining the PAC 12. He really believes it.

In this case I am more pro-byu than Utah. not a fair comparison. BYU has to fill 12 games of out of conference games every year. Utah only has to fill 3. Utah ended the basketball rivalry as well. If byu does that yes they will deserve ridicule. They kept the series going when they had a 12 game schedule to fill every year. We'll see how they act now they they are in the Big-12 and only need to fill out 4 games a year.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 17th, 2021, 12:01 pmbyu has kept the series going with USU. Maybe it was just football. I think it was when we were independent.

We shall see how benevolent BYU is when they’re in the B12. BYU, as an independent, has HAD to go to great lengths to find football opponents. But I’ll give them credit for maintaining the basketball rivalry with USU.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 17th, 2021, 12:01 pmbyu has kept the series going with USU. when I was 5 years old!
This was the age that my Pop started taking me with him to the basketball games. When I got about 10 I understood the game better and enjoyed going more. I remember when Utah and BYU would come and play us at our fieldhouse. There was so much excitement when those games came to Logan. Utah would bring along Bill Marcroft from channel 2. BYU would bring Paul James from channel 5. We often would see them coming into the game early to set up their broadcasting. I and my dad really thought we were in the big time in these games. We played Utah and BYU twice each year. Later we played Weber State twice. There was an intensity with those games. That has been lost because the U and the Y feel it’s more important for them to play other teams from the so called national image. How wrong they are. If we went back to playing each other twice an intensity would start again and I think we would get sell outs again. I think New Mexico and New Mexico State still play each other twice. With Utah and BYU having their tv broadcasters in place with channel 2 and 5 we have always had a disadvantage there. I have always felt that had Cache Valley had a tv station that went throughout Utah and have an announcer that was for USU we would have been on a more level playing ground.
To this day I can remember being 10 years old and walking to the entrance of the fieldhouse with my pop and just feeling excitement and the fact that we were at a sporting event that was the most important that night in the State of Utah for 2 hours! I was on cloud 9 the morning of the game, the afternoon of the game and the start of the game.
I actually felt a bit of that cloud 9 feeling at the LA Bowl this year. I will forever be grateful to my youngest son for taking me and treating me like a king. Hyde Park you got a great family there, get to know them!
