"That's not who we are?"

Who defines who "we" are for a sports franchise?

Pop should've retired several years ago

When a guy refuses to play and asks for a trade, fans have every right to boo.

I would have started booing so much harder.

Pop, you make 16 mil a year. Don't tell me, who spent hard-earned money to be at this game, what to do.

Yeah, this is all so much different than when Stew grabbed the mic and told people to quit throwing (I can't express myself without swearing) on the court. Screw Stew! I paid my ticket and I can throw (I can't express myself without swearing) of I want to. Uh huh.

Do you actually not see the difference between booing and throwing stuff on the court?

I absolutely do. What I don't see the difference in, is the entitled (I can't express myself without swearing). But, that's probably just me, the old guy, waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

If I pay my hard-earned money on a ticket, yes, I’m absolutely entitled to boo the ever-living hell out of a spoiled millionaire who screwed over my favorite team

Pop treats people like garbage during interviews and then scolds fans for booing. What's his record without Tim Duncan?

This is true. I don’t envy courtside reporters or someone who asks am uncomfortable presser question at spurs games.

The thing with pop is he thinks fans are scum. How dare a lowly fan be upset with an elite human like an nba player or dare question me a coach.

Stupid move by Pops. Fans can feel however they want to feel about a player. Kawhi quit on the Spurs and him forcing his way out ended the Spurs as a title contender in the NBA. Since that time, the Spurs have had 2 first round playoff exits and what will be 5 years without even making the playoffs(they aren't making it this year).

Sports teams are bigger than the coach. Most NBA coaches are lucky to make it 4 seasons in one place. Pops has been there for 25 years and has basically been given a pass for all the losing the Spurs have done since Kawhi's stunt, but if I was a fan and he did that, I'd start booing him. He needs to worry about turning the Spurs around and less about the fans.

It's actually a travesty he still has a job. The Spurs haven't been to the playoffs since 2019 and haven't made it out of the first round since 2017. I would be shocked if he makes it through the season.

I wonder if he is very overrated. Can he not win without Duncan, Manu Parker and Kawhi? The Spurs teams he won with were probably some of the most complete teams in NBA history. Save the Warriors teams that came a few years later and the mid 90s Bulls.

They just signed him to a six year extension or something crazy like that. I don’t think they have the guts to fire him, but they might try to convince him to retire.

The extension was absolute insanity. He isn't worth that much. In every league in college and pro, the coach is about as good as his roster, but that is more true than any in the NBA. It is a total star driven league. Without star players, Pop misses the playoffs just like every coach. (Wemby will be a star, but still has some time and the rest of the roster is garbage)
