Women's elite 8

Post by WAAggie » April 1st, 2024, 9:39 pm

In my hotel room sick today. Watched both women's games. First time watching and they play well at this level. There are some very good players. Clark is pretty amazing. Found myself cheering for UConn for some reason. Paige for them made some great shots. Nice break for the day.

Also, coaches could learn to keep players in the game instead of automatically sitting them on the bench with fouls. They stayed on the floor. Granted their bench was short, but the players played.

The highest level of college women's basketball really is an incredible product right now. I'm convinced that most people who find women's basketball boring haven't watched recently or at that level.

Paige vs Caitlin in the final Four is going to be incredible.

Caitlin Clark is a joy to watch. She's an incredible player. Both games tonight were fun, and I'll be watching the final 4.

Loved the LSU/Iowa rematch. Both of those teams belong in the final four. I wonder what the ratings numbers will shake out to be.

The average viewership for Iowa's win over LSU in the Elite Eight was 12.3 million people. It had more views than four out of five games in the 2022-2023 NBA Final and topped last year's World Series, which had 11.48 million. Not too shabby.

Also beat out last year's final by more than 2mill. America likes watching a good grudge match!

Kaitlyn Clark is special and so fun to watch. I wish everyone would just let her be Kaitlyn and stop speculating about how she would do in the men’s game. Reminds me of Serena Williams and hearing how she works do in the men’s game. Apples to oranges.

It's all Jimmy Conner and Martina Navratilova's fault. Battle of the sexes back in the day.
