Totally, the big blue that became the Denver Nuggets first mascot (and as far as I know, still is). Was the best of times. He was the mascot person that brought back all the other mascots on mascot night.hipsterdoofus21 wrote:I have no problem with the big blue costume, but I sure miss the Big Blues of old. My dad would rotate the second ticket among us 6 kids, so one of the first things that was asked of "the chosen one" upon returning was "what did Big Blue do tonight?"
And it wasn't just one Big Blue in particular. It was about 8-10 years of quality entertainment. Does anyone else remember this?
Now, about the halftimes and timeout entertainment......thats an argument for another day!!!

Re: New USU Logo
Damn! I searched for a year to find a USU logo spare tire cover and finally, last year, the Holland Bar Stool company bought
rights to the logo and started making a whole line of USU logo products. Bar stools, spare tire covers, grill covers. All the
RV parts stores I shop have long carried U of U and BYU logo tire covers and I talked two of them into order the USU logo
tire covers. Now they're going to be obsolete.

Re: New USU Logo
He started it, but at least the next 1-2 Big Blues kept it going cause he returned as Rocky. And I believe Icee was a former Big Blue as well. Its too bad his role changed.kofdog wrote:Totally, the big blue that became the Denver Nuggets first mascot (and as far as I know, still is). Was the best of times. Re: New USU Logo
The new logo was revealed before the Spring Game last year. Now that it has been a year, what are your thoughts?
I think the implementation has gone really well. I don't see much old gear out and about. I think the fan base has embraced it. In Cache Valley I see a lot more car stickers than I ever did with the old logo. Overall, I think you would have to say the new logo was a HUGE success.

Re: New USU Logo
Overall, the new logos and uniforms are a great success, but the confusion over the colors has been a fail. There are many different grays and blues used. Even USU itself uses conflicting blues and grays from signs to uniforms to merchandise. The designs are great, but the odd color tweaks have not been. They need to return to a blue more true to our usual blue and have the gray be a straight, easy-to-match gray, not pewter.

Re: New USU Logo
Funny to read this this morning. I read about the spring game in the standard examiner and they used the old logo.
I love the new logo. I have totally "geared up" and feel weird when I wear something with the old logo.

Re: New USU Logo
I completely agree. I love the consistency in the logos (even if the color isn't totally consistent, which doesn't really bother me). I love that we don't have the cartoon character bull anymore or the lame weird 70s looking font. I love the new bowl and love how the new U-State is more readable. I also love hoe I've heard opposing fans and recruits commenting on the football teams new look in a positive way.Cheecho6 wrote:The new logo was revealed before the Spring Game last year. Smashing success IMO. Now the Nike is re-upping with us for much more $$$ it's even better.

Couldn't be happier. After seeing Oregon State, Cal and Uconn's new stuff, I feel like we won the Nike makeover lottery.

I don't really have a problem with "Pewter", but I switch to "Gunmetal" would be good if for no other reason than "Gunmetal" sounds cooler.

Has anybody invited a Tattoo artist to be at the unveiling? I'd stand in line to be the first customer.

Went to Locker 42 on Sat. and bought a polo, with that I got a free hat that had the old logo on it. I gave the hat to my wife.

I've never had anyone ask that, but when I do, I'll answer YES. It is utah STATE U and it's U STATE university.NavyBlue wrote:I have a hat with the new logo. I am always asked if it is "State-U" or "U-State". Anyone else been asked that?

Re: New USU Logo
I have people ask me what university the U-State is. It baffles me. How many states begin with a U? (I know that there are some city colleges with state in their name, but again how many cities begin with U).

Re: New USU Logo
I think we should break some ground and go with an animated gif as our logo. That would look sweet on the football field!
