Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I am going to have to disagree and say it's my favorite so far. I like simple old school looks.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I actually really like it. I have never been a fan of huge logos plastered across clothes like for which Abercrombie and American Eagle are historically known (though that has been changing in recent years). While the designs in the past have been fun for Game-day, I'm more likely to wear a shirt like this on a day-to-day basis rather than just at the games.
So yeah, maybe not the best strictly Game-day shirt, but big fan for day-to-day.
*Edit removed my request for a white version because I just noticed they already made one.

They do have a white version as well.dhilk3785 wrote:I would also love for them to make a pewter and/or white version with a blue logo.

Now, can we get a pewter/gray one?

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
Whatever became of the idea to make higher quality gameday shorts this year? If I recall correctly the poll the HURD put out showed that respondents preferred a higher quality shirt for a little more money.

I am curious to know about the material quality, as the white shirts in the past have been fairly thin and almost transparent.aggieguy13 wrote:Whatever became of the idea to make higher quality gameday shorts this year? Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
So, is the back of the shirt blank? Also, I noticed that the description says "WINNING TEAM on bottom hem". Any clue what that means? I'm not seeing anything in the picture.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I didn't get a gameday shirt last year so I don't know what brand it was. But all of the 5 or 6 gameday shirts in my closet are Gildan. The store says this Port & Company Brand. Not sure if that's any better or not, but it is different.dhilk3785 wrote:I am curious to know about the material quality, as the white shirts in the past have been fairly thin and almost transparent.aggieguy13 wrote:Whatever became of the idea to make higher quality gameday shorts this year? Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I just walked over to the Campus Store to have a look. They are 50% Cotton/Polyester. I think for a couple of years they were dri-fit, or something similar.
They look better in person, but definitely don't look like a higher quality shirt than normal.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I dont mind the simple look at all. In fact I like it. I am annoyed they are immediately available in white as opposed to just for white out games. I suppose you can call the era of strictly wearing blue to games all but dead.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I also like the classic font around the logo. For a while all athletics visuals pretty strictly ran with the "USU" font and it got a bit nauseating.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
Super plain and boring. Makes us look like we're an FCS school. My favorite is the one from two years ago with the bull on the front.

This is actually a fairly popular design among millennials right now. And school status makes no difference. When NDSU was FCS they had phenomenal branding.Maverik_Aggie wrote:Super plain and boring. Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
Supposedly it says "winning team" along the bottom hem on the back side. I have not personally seen anything to confirm this claim.GeoAg wrote:I like it. Is there anything on the back?
Presumptuous and ill-informed.

You are correct about the backside wording. I very much like the simpler design.Dwigt wrote:Supposedly it says "winning team" along the bottom hem on the back side. I have not personally seen anything to confirm this claim.GeoAg wrote:I like it. Is there anything on the back?

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
This is trash in my opinion...
Boring, plain, not an ounce of that would pop in a photo of an entire student section wearing those...
Also why do we have an official USU Athletics font if we're not even going to use it on the gameday shirt of all places.

Variety. I like simple and classic. We don't use the font but do use the bull, and I also like the university's traditional UTAH STATE mark.ProfessorChaos wrote:This is trash in my opinion...

I didn't care much for last year's wrap-around design, but I'm sure others loved it. And IMO what "pops" more than anything in a student section photo is the sea of blue -- what's on the shirt itself doesn't matter much in such a large field.
Nobody here knows anything.

Yeah. I'm not a big fan of the circular lettering and font. But I'll still get one.Aglicious wrote:They lost me with the hideous font.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
To each his own I suppose. Perhaps I am among the small millennial group that doesn't like it? My reference to the FCS school is that because the shirt is more plain looking it makes us look like we have a low budget or are trying to be cheap . At least it gives more variety as the last two gameday shirts were very similar. I'll probably still get one!TheSauerkrautKid wrote:This is actually a fairly popular design among millennials right now. And school status makes no difference. I'm actually surprised that some genius didn't say "hey, let's go full retro this year and bring back Pumba the pig bull in the center of this great Cowboy font".treesap32 wrote:Yeah. Now that would make for a fine cluster.

I miss the "Show Me Your A" shirts and the like. They were old for awhile, but now I miss them.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
I like it. I prefer a bigger logo but this is a shirt I will wear WAY more regularly than last year's. That one would be a shirt for painting if I wasn't planning a shirt quilt down the road.

Re: Worst Gameday shirt ever?
Does anyone have a picture of the shirt that shows the back? I like the front but I think the "Winning Team" across the bottom hem could potentially be disastrous.
