Anybody concerned with Eberle?
Anybody concerned with Eberle missing 2 gimme field goals today? I think he will recover, but I always worry about field goal kicking. We are going to need him to make some big kicks to win some games in the future.

Just a little. I wonder how much is not having Nelson holding for him (he's still out right?)

Dj held today, even was in on Nathan’s touchdown over the middle, he was wide open as well and would have walked in.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑October 13th, 2018, 9:13 pmJust a little. I wonder how much is not having Nelson holding for him (he's still out right?)

Dj did hold today, he even made it in on a few slot receiver snaps.

Maybe the wind had something to do with it?

Yeah, saw that in another post. My bad. That's why I edited my post. I got the edit in within 30 seconds of posting. Not fast enough, I guess.Aggieforlife wrote: ↑October 13th, 2018, 9:16 pmDj did hold today, he even made it in on a few slot receiver snaps.
And I'm impressed that DJ was back taking snaps at the slot position! The kid's tough; a competitor! He'd be out there if he was held together with duck tape.

Not much. Kickers can kinda go into funks when they miss a couple but he’ll be fine.
It was pretty windy and wet too

For sure, he’s a tough kid! It’s pretty crazy that he had a plate put in his collarbone like 2 weeks ago and he’s already back and in the lineup.LKGates wrote: ↑October 13th, 2018, 9:22 pmYeah, saw that in another post. My bad. Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
I watched him practicing my in the south end zone before the game kicking into the wind. He couldn’t make a thing and the wind was really messing with him. He was overthinking it I thought. I could tell he was going to have an off day because he was too worried about what the wind was doing to his kicks.

Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
I was sitting in section 100. The wind was blowing really hard into the stadium right there. Kids in front of me keep throwing up popcorn in the air and it would shoot up in the air. It didn't help that the wind shifted from out of the South to out of the North. I was watching the punts and it seems like the wind was blowing different directions 20 feet above the field.

Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
We were there early and watching him during pregame warmups. The wind was howling and you could actually see the ball curve. He was having a hard time judging it and you could see him kick with different trajectories and strengths to try and get a feel for it. And then when he kicked the first one the wind had kinda died down and he miss judged it.
Anyways, that'd be my story.
I think he will be fine.

Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
At the national anthem the flags in south end zone were blowing straight south and the ones the ROTC had were blowing straight west. I was amazed. Wind is crazy in that stadium.

Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
We were up on the east side and the wind was pretty intense. You could tell that it was swirling down on the field as well. I'm guessing it just got into his head. It had died down quite a bit by the 2nd miss but I think he was probably still over thinking it.
Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
He missed two field goals, but he remains on track to tie the all-time FBS single-season scoring record for kickers. That record is 157 points. If the Aggies play 14 games, he is on pace to score 157. He picked up another 11 today.

I was wondering who that was. He was possibly the easier completionAggieforlife wrote:Dj held today, even was in on Nathan’s touchdown over the middle, he was wide open as well and would have walked in.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑October 13th, 2018, 9:13 pmJust a little. Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
This ^^^^ Before the rest of the team ran out on the field he was struggling. I thought it might be in off day for him before kickoff. I’m sure he’ll be fine, just an off day.Chatman wrote:I watched him practicing my in the south end zone before the game kicking into the wind. Re: Anybody concerned with Eberle?
I know dissent is frowned upon around here, but yes, I’m starting to get a little nervous. It’s been nice having a near automatic kicker, but maybe he just turns out to be a good kicker from here on out.
