Yeah, no offense to raggie, but has anyone who doesn't have a history of being full of (I can't express myself without swearing) heard this?
I can't make myself believe it, we're not that pathetic are we?

Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
This wouldn’t surprise me at all as I know he is a donor favorite and, had this season gone the other way, a push would have been made to make this change.
The optimistic side of me wants to think that GA got the P5 glory dreams out of his system and will be content finishing his career here. We know money isn’t a huge factor for him after the way he left Oregon State.

Lay off rAggie. When the source inside USU can know for sure, rAggie gets it right. When sources inside USU don't necessarily know for sure, it's a crapshoot at best.
Seriously. Why be so jerky?

Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
I'm not getting my hopes up yet...... actually I am! GA knows Aggie culture..... actually he created it. USU was a perennial loser before Andersen came along despite many attempting and ultimately failing for 30+ years. He knows the game, he has connections, loves the players and they love him, and he knows what it takes to make USU something special.
He is the perfect hire for USU. No question!

this is what he said:
I didn’t think there was a chance in hell GA would coach again. After several conversations today, I realize I may be wrong. While I doubt he will be our new HC, there are many associated with USU that would like to see that happen. That came as a surprise to me.

Hearing the same as raggie. Big push for GA from those with massive influence.
Not ready to say it will happen because not everyone that matters is on board yet, but it is looking likely based on what I have heard.

Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
It’s a good business choice.
You want butts in seats. Gary.
You want a proven winner. Gary.
You want someone that will likely stay. Gary.
You want a players coach. Gary
You want a better defense. Gary.
You want donor money. Gary.

Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
This is true, however, there would not be a big push if GA wasn't interested and didn't already have a plan in his back pocket/had already started talking to people. MY GUESS is that if GA wanted it, he approached the right people, knowing that Wells would probably be leaving soon, and put something in motion. Don't be surprised if this happens quickly with precision and accuracy.AndroidAggie wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:31 pm"we want gary" is not the same as "gary wants us and is interested in coming"Intermeddler wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:30 pmHearing the same as raggie. He was interested in the past... and that is coming from people that know him somewhat personally.USUstudent13 wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:37 pmYeah how do we know that he is even interested?AndroidAggie wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:33 pmi'm way out of the loop, so don't take this the wrong way:Intermeddler wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:33 pmHe would take it in a second if offered. Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
REMEMBER - when Gary left, he basically gave us his salary back in the form of a donation to the BB Club. Gary has endeared himself to many in the USU community. After leaving OSU, he tried to approach Wells, who wasn't having it, then went to Utah (I've only ever been told this, not 100% sure how accurate it is).

Gary ought to be licking his chops at the thought of Love returning at QB, let him put a touch of his own on the defensive side of the ball and we could really have something.

Yeah. I cant remember what the numbers were specifically, but I was shocked at how much he has donated, especially with him employed at another in-state institution.

Re: Gary Andersen is coming back.
From what I’ve heard Gary had shown interest when he left OSU. As was mentioned he even offered to be an assistant for free - Wells declined. However I had heard Hartwell didn’t want Gary because he wasn’t “his” guy.
Apparently there were some influential donors who were upset with the Smith hire and said they would no longer donate because they wanted someone else. Perhaps this is a way to get those few back if this is what they are asking for.
In my opinion Gary is a good fit for us as long as he can hire good coordinators and just focus on the HC Job and not try to run the defense

Also his sons played here. Even after he left.ViAggie wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:41 pmREMEMBER - when Gary left, he basically gave us his salary back in the form of a donation to the BB Club. His wife loves Logan.
We aren’t going to tear him apart for losing to a team that wins a title.
We admit almost everyone.
And no one here wants guys like Weber or Baldwin back anyway.
Less pesssure, doesn’t have to play politics.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he "donate" back his buyout amount?ViAggie wrote:REMEMBER - when Gary left, he basically gave us his salary back in the form of a donation to the BB Club. Why even suggest this when you clearly have no idea? They are not divorced.
