My biggest fear is Love transferring if Wells brings along Yost.
[*]If Yost comes along with Wells, then will that cause Love to want to transfer? That's the only thing I hate about these kinda things. Hopefully Love is well connected here enough.

Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for a kid on NFL scouts radar to sit out a year and only give himself one more year to play.

Yeah, already using his redshirt sort of makes that a dumb move. Dare I say "Collette dumb"?

I agree. He's been on fire and nothing extinguishes a fire more than cooling off for a year. A lot of guys will be coming back on offense that he has mastered his timing with at USU, but I've been burned before as a fan over things like this (Collette comes to mind when Morrill left.)

I'll echo others thoughts on why he shouldn't transfer, but FWIW the Salt Lake Trib is reporting Wells is expected to bring Yost with him.Aggiealum13 wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:40 pm[*]If Yost comes along with Wells, then will that cause Love to want to transfer? I don’t think anyone believes Yost is staying. He was gone anyway - whether Wells was gone or not.

Love could legitimately announce he is entering the draft in about 13 months. I’d be more worried about current recruits.

Actually...we lose most of our OLine, our top two receivers, head coach and OC. Maybe not a bad idea to transfer.
Re: My biggest fear is Love transferring if Wells brings along Yost.
I would be a little worried if he had a redshirt available. He doesn’t so I’m not. He has played pretty smart so I would assume he is smart. He will stay. Collette proved dumb on the court translates to life decisions.

Yes, it still is dumb. We bring back plenty of experience on the O-Line, a two headed beast at RB, a healthy Dax, and guys like Scarver and Nathan (I’m his #1 fan, by the way) get another year in the system.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 6:59 pmActually...we lose most of our OLine, our top two receivers, head coach and OC. We also need to hold on to our Strength and Conditioning staff. HUGE part of our success.

Does anyone know if Love is close to graduating? I wouldn't worry about him transferring unless he is graduating early. Alabama won a national title a few years ago with a guy who graduate transferred from Florida State after being a redshirt sophmore.

The head usually goes with the coaching staff. Unless Schultz is still not allowed in Texas anymore, he’s gone too.GeorgiaAggie wrote:We also need to hold on to our Strength and Conditioning staff. HUGE part of our success.

Maybe a grad transfer next year if the Techies have an opening. I’d hope we can get a great staff in place though and Jordan can finish out rewriting the Aggie record books over the next two years.

Doesn’t Tech have a solid young QB? Why would J. Love lose a year of eligibility for, at best, a QB competition two years down the road with a guy that’ll be able to play and establish himself as a starter next year?
I think Jordan is smarter than that.

Re: My biggest fear is Love transferring if Wells brings along Yost.
We graduate four O-Line STARTERS; I love Nathan - I see him as a Wes Welker type and would love to see him on more Z routes. Scarver...his hands concern me. I just see him drop passes left and right.YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 7:05 pmYes, it still is dumb. No, I don't think he'll transfer and if I'm his parents I don't counsel him to transfer. Just pointing out that the team is going to be a lot different next year and the incoming coach may have a different philosophy. It isn't outlandish to see next year as a learning curve - break it and rebuild it year - so rather than going backward he could conceivably transfer to a school that suits his skillset, spend a year learning the system, and having a great senior year.

Healthy Dax is apparently trying to go get paid too. What is it with these people and money?YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 7:05 pmYes, it still is dumb. Re: My biggest fear is Love transferring if Wells brings along Yost.
I know Dax personally and it has absolutely nothing to do with money. He’s 24 years old, is finished with his degree and wants to move forward in life by living a dream to play in the NFL before it’s too late. NFL careers are typically very short-lived as it is, and the chances to succeed get worse and worse with age. He’s been toying with the idea for awhile and probably would have taken his shot regardless. Wells leaving just finalized it. The only thing that you should be mentioning his name for is wishing him luck on the next level and for him to overcome having had a good chunk of the season taken away from him after breaking his hand mid-game (he finished that game, mind you) rather than making some silly slight at his character. He’s consistently been one of the best players on the field during his time here, let’s be thankful that he came here in the first place.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑November 30th, 2018, 8:37 amHealthy Dax is apparently trying to go get paid too.
