Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
I don’t think it’s fair to suggest Hartwell is an AD in name only because we’ve hired a search firm. There are a lot of good reasons a search firm is a good idea (wider connections, confidentiality, etc.)
Hartwell is the one doing the interviews of the candidates.

But out of curiosity, was Craig Smith already a client of their firm or did they find him. Just interested to know if it is a pay to play type of scheme where the search firm gets paid on both sides.

I found it interesting that the football scoop article said the firm changes their mind if the info leaks. Makes it sound like they are calling the shots, not Hartwell.BeNo wrote:That is our pseudo AD?
What recent coaches have they placed? That apparently is what we need to focus on. Not what Hartwell, our name in AD only, has done.

Purdue used this firm to hire Brohm. In light of the general tone of the Board lately, please see the following disclaimer: This is according to the internet and not first hand knowledge. I have no inside (or outside) sources, ties to the search firm, Jeff Brohm, Purdue, or the state of Indiana.

But you can throw a football over a mountain and would have won state if coach had put you in during the 4th quarter.UncleRico wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 10:38 amPurdue used this firm to hire Brohm. Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
I heard from someone in the ADs office on Saturday, that the firm was used so they can say to the media that they have not contacted a certain coach, when the firm has not only contacted them, but negotiations were well under way. Its a way to lie the public without being called a liar.

Who is this Dikem?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
Cheatem wasn’t much of a defense attorney. Dewey and Howe were looking for someone to bring the D. Enter Dickem to give em the D.USU78 wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 3:03 pmCheatem retired, huh?Aggieiester wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 11:50 amThe firm name is Dewey Dikem and Howe. Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
The firm is DHR International. Glenn Sugiyama is the guy Hartwell is working with https://www.dhrinternational.com/consul ... -sugiyama/
Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
Perhaps they just don't like when someone they've contacted leaks info? Seems like that would speak to the character of the candidate?2004AG wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 10:33 amI found it interesting that the football scoop article said the firm changes their mind if the info leaks. Per the Des News, "Hartwell said he’ll be employing the services of Glenn Sugiyama of the search firm DHR International." You might want to check your sources! Just playing, of course. I don't care what firm we use, as long as they don't have Tim Duryea on the list.Aggieiester wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 11:50 amThe firm name is Dewey Dikem and Howe. Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
Hartwell better be making the decisions, not some stupid search firm. Information getting out doesn't speak to anything, that information could come from anywhere. Hardly an indictment of the new potential coach and his character.MalAgua wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 6:02 pmPerhaps they just don't like when someone they've contacted leaks info? Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
It is also a way to get real/accurate info on candidates that you might not be able to get through normal channels. This is especially useful if a candidate has a sketchy past. The search firm can get you info that you can’t normally get at a public institution that has HR policies.aggiefan444 wrote:I heard from someone in the ADs office on Saturday, that the firm was used so they can say to the media that they have not contacted a certain coach, when the firm has not only contacted them, but negotiations were well under way. Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
Why would they choose a stupid search firm. They should have looked for a smart and competent search firm. Come on Heartwell.2004AG wrote:Hartwell better be making the decisions, not some stupid search firm. Information getting out doesn't speak to anything, that information could come from anywhere. Re: So what is the name of this search firm?
I had the same thought. Is a background check a deal breaker for some of the candidates?donlarson8 wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2018, 9:12 pmIt is also a way to get real/accurate info on candidates that you might not be able to get through normal channels. I don't know why they don't just hire Saul Goodman, he can get the dirt on anybody. Much cheaper than this fancy schmancy search firm
