Airfare deals

Post by Elkaggie » December 3rd, 2018, 9:56 am

If any of you come across any airfare deals please share. I see Delta is over $400.. not sure I can justify that.

South west was under $400 if you flew in Thursday and out Monday. I have not seen any cheaper anywhere else. Last night right after the news I saw $350, but they have all gone up now.

We are flying Southwest. Flying in Thursday and flying out Saturday night. Luckily we have the free companion fare. Can't wait! Go Aggies :utah: :state:

It's like no one flies to ABQ ever. Prices are outrageous for flights. Currently the cheapest I can find on Google Flights is $409, and that's with one stop. *sigh*

I was hoping for the announcement of some sort of alumni travel package or something.

Try buying 1 way at a time.....and look on Tuesday night, usually best prices are then, not sure why.

If driving is an option rental cars are super cheap right now. I rented a mini van for Thursday through Sunday for $84. Cars were going for $40 to $59 for the same period. 3 gas tanks total and you can get a car of 5 down and back for less than $200.

Where are you driving from and which company did you use?

Also, is everyone going through the USU ticket office to get their tickets?

We drove 4 years ago and loved it. We stopped in Moab on the way there and back and saw Arches and Canyonlands which we had never been to. If you have never seen the delicate Arch, here is your opportunity!

You can also stop in Blanding and see the branch campus there. They even have a replica block A if you want to become a true Aggie.

[Driving from the Salt Lake area. Rented the van through Fox Rent A Car. There were also good deals through many of the other car rental agencies.]

[If possible you should go through the ticket office. That way USU gets credit for tickets sold. The more tickets a school sells the more attractive they are for future bowls.]

Cheapest I see on Skiplagged is $366 from SLC, but you can't fly back on Sunday -- have to be Monday or later. The cheaper option is for all of you coming from Utah to chip in and rent a party bus. Make a day of it. Get to know each other. Have a Bloody Mary bar. Could be fun.

We’ve found round trip tickets from Boise to Albuquerque from $268 each person if we go on the 14th and return the 17th. It goes up to $350 if we return on the 16th.

Leave after work Friday and return in time for work on Monday for $367 round trip, Delta basic economy. There's also an earlier Friday and later Monday option for the same price.

why can't these bowl's partner up with an airline in advance? Sure some airlines don't fly from X to Y, but they could offer some sort of trade or something. I bet if they did, they would likely get more people to attend.

Or the alumni association or university chartering a jet if they get enough takers. :noidea:

When we played in the 1993 Las Vegas bowl the university chartered several busses from Logan to LV.

I have no idea how much this cost, but it seemed like a cool way to go and was a fun trip. I’ve wondered why we don’t do something like this now. Any ideas?
