(When talking about coming into the TTU program)
“I don’t know everything about it and I can’t look forward”
Yes he corrected himself, but that’s how I feel about Lubbock too

No, won’t be public until the 13th or 14th board of regents have to officially approve of contract.

No state income tax in TX either. That's a pretty good chunk of change, regardless of whether or not he survives the full 6 years.Floppy Hat wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 2:54 pmTotal contract is for $16 million...not sure on the breakdown per year.FormerlyVegasAggie71 wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 2:49 pmI know he signed a 6 year contract - has the annual salary been disclosed yet?

While the no state income tax is true from what a former roommate that lived in Texas for awhile told me they more than make up for that in high property taxes.FormerlyVegasAggie71 wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 4:19 pmNo state income tax in TX either. Re: New Red Raider Intro
This is true to some extent, but also remember that there is no cap on state income tax, whereas you can only spend so much on a house and thereby property taxes. The second consideration is that property taxes are more likely to fund things you actually see benefit from (schools, firefighters, etc.) so you may feel as though your tax dollars are better spent.ustate98 wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 4:57 pmWhile the no state income tax is true from what a former roommate that lived in Texas for awhile told me they more than make up for that in high property taxes.FormerlyVegasAggie71 wrote: ↑December 5th, 2018, 4:19 pmNo state income tax in TX either. Re: New Red Raider Intro
Does it?
I recently considered moving to Plano, and i may still do it one day, switch over to a GS position and be set.
Virginia income tax is 5.75%. If someone is making $100,000 with an assessed value of $350,000 on the property that’s $5750 in income tax and $3,486 in property tax. For $8,986...
In Texas that’s $7,375 for an assessed value of $350,000.
As important as the rates assessed value is important.
Wells will do just fine.
Utah’s income tax is 5%.
Let’s say he buys a 1 million dollar house. He would pay $17,540. He’d pay more than that on his $900,000 salary to the state alone in Utah...
It also helps people to actually build money when they are starting out. You’re also less likely to be hit with AMT when you’re a high income wage earner.

Re: New Red Raider Intro
That’s what I thought - all scripted. Two things really stuck out to me and made me feel better about his move. First was I think he showed that all is success was due to his two current coordinators. All the right things and philosophies he verbalized were from them. High tempo offense, starting quickly, etc - never saw that from Coach wells - that’s Yost. Second - after the well prepared cliches were finished, someone said - I love what you said about a student involved program. Can you give us an example of how that improved the program (or something to that point). He couldn’t give an example. This is a great interviewing technique to see if someone actually has experience and knowledge of an idea they spew that would be agreed upon by anyone. You ask for a specific example of how that happened in their work experience. When they can’t give you one it means they have not experienced it, but likely saw the idea on Pinterest and thought it would sound good.2004AG wrote:That was 45 minutes of coach speak and clichés. He did seem to love USU though and I did appreciate that. I don’t fault him for going and after listening to him I felt validated in not being concerned that he is gone. Unfortunately I later listened to the coordinator interviews and was very sad to see them go

Re: New Red Raider Intro
That lack of a specific example to the question stood out to me too. The other thing that I noted was how many times he said "trust me". The more I hear someone say that, the less I trust them.

Cliches are safe and give you room to maneuver, specifics are held against you and get you fired. If I were a coach, I'd do the exact same thing. I probably wouldn't be as robotic as Matt, but I would definitely deal in platitudes.
