Probably a good idea. It may be a little awkward for everyone with both MW and GA on the sidelines. I know they used to have a good relationship but not sure lately.

Good luck to him at TT, but he isn't the coach of USU anymore.

Gary better not be there either. He needs to be back here holding down the fort and hosting a final week of official visits.

I hope you included Luke's conversation with Jordan. I am thinking his stupid "I Chose You" made some players angry. It was a shallow comment. He most likely didn't know any TT players (or at best a few from recruiting). For him to say that comment was an affront to the USU players. He chose them because they offered him more money. Period.

I also don't think it's a coincidence that this news came out right about the time he bought the ad in the paper. The ad might have worked time wise with me last week. It wasn't like it needed a ton of art work.

I do believe Matt has burned some bridges and this decision may prove it.

As for Gary being at the game. I hope he is (in a press box). It would be good for him to do some interviews at half time but let Frank shine. Frank has earned this. He has done a great job recruiting for USU.

That is what MW is going to do. Be in Lubbock looking after the recruits coming in on the last weekend of visits. I like MW... and I hope he is really a success at T Tech.

I hope he does well but the way he has treated some good players over the years really left a bad taste; trying to poach a few players on the way out the door wasn't classy either.

But Wells chose the Tech players over the Aggie players..............except for the ones that were tampered with.

I wish him well. I like him. Especially how much better he treated players this year
No. I did not want him on bowl game sidelines at all

What players did Wells try to poach besides Jordan Nathan?

Why are there official visits scheduled during the time that the coaching staff would've been at the bowl game?

There wouldn't have been. Now that there has been a Head Coach named, he can stay behind and handle the recruiting business.

Any details on if Gary was able to meet and interact with the players that were visiting over the weekend?

I would think being down in Alb, maybe giving a half time interview that would be seen by recruits would be a better use of time. Not certain how effective a recruiting visit would be without any players or support personnel around.

How long have these visits been scheduled? I can’t imagine they’d be very effective had we not lost a coach.

I want Gary focusing on recruiting and it’s why I stated previously he shoudntncisch the game. But going to the game to support his team is important. Recruiting is important- but so are current players. Also, part of recruiting is getting the guys currently on the team to buy in.

I expect Gary to be on the sideline and being a big motivator and fan.

Good. The school doesn’t owe him anything. Sure he had a couple good seasons, but at the end of the day he left.
On the other hand if he had many good years as head coach, and had decided to retire then I would be okay if he was on the sidelines for every bowl game.

Gary said he isn’t going but if he did he would buy a ticket and sit in the stands. He said something like: this isn’t his team - working on putting a coaching staff together and will work on his team for next year. Just wished this team luck.

He's not wrong. And for the same reason Wells not being there is right. It's not he's team and he needs to focus on his staff.

Which recruits are scheduled to be in Logan this weekend? If there are some non committed athletes coming, it is imperative that Gary be here IMHO.

I'm not sure if they are official visits but I know that Hunter Hill and Cooper Legas from Orem were hoping to get up here this weekend. I'll try and find out if there are any official visits this weekend.

Do you think we have a chance at flipping Hill?

Also don’t we want to have officials when current players are here to help host?

You gotta imagine you have a chance if he's coming for an official. Additionally, there has never been a better coach at selling Logan and USU when a player comes up for a visit, especially if the parents come, than GA.
