He clearly gave up and just bailed out. This would explain why he couldn't even get a verbal commitment from his top recruit QB nephew.

Looks like he will be. He was Temple’s head coach for about two weeks...Awkward!

Their class that is like #40 on rivals? It won't take a hit. This might let them keep a couple guys like Stevenson and Bogle.

I was a grad student at UGA when Richt started. He had a couple bone-headed 1st year coach decisions (see the Auburn game in 2001), but overall had a good first year. He got better and better from there. Overall, he impressed me as a class act in every way. I'm sad to see him hang it up.

Richt isn't done for good. He'll be back soon. He just needed to get out of Miami and they weren't firing him anytime soon. Retirement/quitting was his only option.
