Watching the Holiday Bowl
I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist. But, while watching the game I noticed that the title sponsor for the bowl is the San Diego Community Credit Union. The same credit union that use to be the title sponsor for the Poinsettia Bowl. Both bowls were managed by one bowl committee. The last several years the title sponsor changed every 2 years. So, is the real reason that the Poinsettia Bowl was cancelled is because the bowl committee couldn't find a decent title sponsor for the Holiday Bowl so they canibalized the Poinsettia Bowl?

I’m also watching and one thing I know for sure is that our defense next year is going to be physical and nasty. I don’t care who is staying or leaving, the 11 on the field are going to bring it!

I hate UTAH with a passion, but I do enjoy watching their defense. They are so physical at every position. I really hope Andersen and Ena bring that with them to our defense.

I don't get the hoodie with no sleeves. To me it just leaves something easy for a defender to grab on and assist with the tackle.

Agreed. I can't stand Utah and their pompus fans but they play nasty defense. Having Ena and GA is going to be fun.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑December 31st, 2018, 6:37 pmI hate UTAH with a passion, but I do enjoy watching their defense. They are so physical at every position. Does Ena, paired with Maile help us bring in some more bad @ss down linemen to go with our great linebackers?

Glad the offensive coaches aren't coming. 4 TOs now that have led to 21 points. Northwestern in the lead now.

Their defense has been put in tough spots the second half. Can’t say I’m sad they’re losing.

Re: Watching the Holiday Bowl
Do the Aggies move ahead of the Utes in the final AP poll that is released in a week? USU is #27, right behind #26 Northwestern.
Missouri (24) and Iowa State (25) have already lost and Boise State (23) didn’t play. I think that the lower end of the poll will be:
20 West Virginia
21 Army
22 Northwesten
23 Boise State
24 Utah State
25 Utah

I think with the blowout bowl win and losses by NC State, Iowa State, Utah, and others USU will be around 21st or so.dogie wrote: ↑December 31st, 2018, 9:27 pmDo the Aggies move ahead of the Utes in the final AP poll that is released in a week? USU is #27, right behind #26 Northwestern.

I also think USU was the best team from the Beehive State this year, hopefully the final polls reflect that.

Re: Watching the Holiday Bowl
So are they going to award the beehive boot this year?
How can it not be ours?

Because the boot is seemingly retired. Given Utah’s decion to not play USU there is no longer a means to determine the winner.

Media have awarded the beehive boot to the team with the most media votes in the past when there was no direct head to head.

No matter how much you may want the beehive boot it no longer is given out. Period. Utah killed it. The only awards that are in play are the old Wagon Wheel and the desert dual. There hasn't been a boot since at least 2012 when we beat Utah.
