Is it worse to lose your coach right after the season is over or at the start of the new year? Seems like it would be best to lose your coach right after the season is over so a replacement can be found and get on the recruiting trail.

This was John Hartwell's signature hire.

I'm sure Hartwell will be involved in the national search for a new head coach immediately at Troy.

One thing we will have to see is if they decide to promote old Vic Koenning to head coach. He has been their defensive coordinator under Neal Brown. There was one article that mentioned him as a candidate here, and a number of us were hoping Hartwell wouldn't hire him and were glad he didn't.

Actually Hartwell’s signature hire is Craig Smith, USU hoops coach.

Probably only thing worse to lose late in season is to lose your coach twice in same offseason, a la Temple.

Maybe Jalil Brown is interested in Temple or Troy.
