That's interesting, I haven't seen Yost's name mentioned by anyone at Utah, but I have heard things out of SC...

It would be ironic if after Yost took the job here with the lack of security with Wells on the hot seat, he were to leave a fairly safe job at Texas Tech for the insecure job at USC with Helton on the hot seat.

There’s no way that Sanford goes to SC.
We should realistically be prepared for a one and done season from him though.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Yost is interested in the bright light anymore. He had that earlier in his career and didn't seem happy with it. It may well be that the TT job is as far to the edges of the box he wants to go.

Sanford is not an Air Raid guy and given the issues on the West Coast in terms of good OL, personally I would prefer a call to Graham Harrell. USC has better WR than any other school in the Pac-12, but under Martin/Helton we did not capitalize on creating 1 on 1 match ups for these guys.
Helton has never been known for his rolodex, and I think his options will be limited given the tenuous nature of his job. If it's not Sanford, than I would expect him reach out to Fisch. Hope I am wrong.

As recently as yesterday, Sanford has stated that he is going nowhere and since he has been hired on at USU, he has turned down 2 BIG-10 job offers.

That's great. However, it also means that if we're successful going forward, he probably won't be here more than three years, tops. Possibly only one. But then, that's just the norm for successful coaches at Utah State.

I'm sure this will just be considered coach speak but Sanford Jr. also said that he is tired of moving around and would like to provide a little stability for his children and would like to stay around for awhile.

I'm not positive but I think most of these assistant jobs have contracts very favorable to employee and third party recruiting. In a world where they have little year to year security and no long term guarantees it would be hard to attract good assistants otherwise. I would guess anyway?
