I'm with Sl7vk. Does anyone on the offense at UofU succeed? Staff included?

The ewe is, in my opinion, tops in giving offense.brownjeans wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 2:34 pmI'm with Sl7vk. Does anyone on the offense at UofU succeed? Staff included?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

This is a very good point. Tarver had a bunch of great catches, but he also had way too many catchable drops as well.brownjeans wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 2:30 pmNot trying to be cheeky, but that sounds like Tarver. He was great if he was focused, but there were plays he was pretty casual about things.

Fair enough. It was just something that stuck out to me while watching them, though I don't know their team well enough to say who was the offender. If he could produce like Tarver, then I'd be less trepidatious.USU78 wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 2:56 pmThe ewe is, in my opinion, tops in giving offense.brownjeans wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 2:34 pmI'm with Sl7vk. WR Siaosi Mariner transferring from Utah
Their running backs seem to do well. I would guess Zach Moss would start on most teams. They also usually have a really good line.brownjeans wrote: I'm with Sl7vk. Does anyone on the offense at UofU succeed? Staff included?

Bergstrom, both Asiatas, Alex Smith, Steve Smith, Booker- and technically Josh Gordon (who is inarguably successful but also inarguably a failure)brownjeans wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 2:34 pmI'm with Sl7vk. Does anyone on the offense at UofU succeed? Staff included?

Re: WR Siaosi Mariner transferring from Utah
I would take Brandon Pierce, Ajani Carter, and Mariner over Brandon Pierce, Ajani Carter, and one of the other two JUCO guys we are rumored to be recruiting (Sean Carter and Colson), neither of which appear to be game changers.
If the someone niiiice Tania is alluding to is a better grad transfer than Mariner or some other more highly recruited HS guy, then that’s more intriguing. The JC ranks are just pretty picked over after the early signing period...

For those that are praising Jalen Greene for the great season and not wanting Siaosi, let me just show you this. Jalen was not that impressive at USC, but then he transferred and did great. Here are his three years of stats at USC:
I'm not saying that Siaosi will follow suit but you never know. I think it is definitely worth a shot.

No we need more Taylor Compton types. You know legit receivers.USU78 wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 11:03 amAnd those '17 and '18 numbers show us, more than anything, what happened: Mariner got recruited over. Do we really need somebody that failed at the ewe?SLB wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 10:54 amMairner stats 2015-2017aggies22 wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 10:50 amThe difference between Jalen and Siaosi is that Jalen left because he couldn't AND never was going to crack the starting lineup. Most WRs at USC that start end up in the NFL, including Aaren Vaughns little brother Tyler. Siaosi has very little production to show for being a 2 or 3 year starter. You want to compare Jalen and Siaosi? Compare what they did this season.YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 10:37 amBuddy, wait until I tell you about how well Jalen Greene did at USC.
Jalen Greene 44 receptions 689 yards 6 TDs
Siaosi Mariner 17 receptions 209 yards 1 TD
2016 15 recs 183 yards
2017 20 recs 393 yards
2018 17 receptions 209 yards
I know the counterargument: "But! But! But! Pac-friggin-12!"

Gary would’ve been around him the last year. Would have good insight into his attitude and work ethic.taniataylor wrote: ↑January 8th, 2019, 10:44 amI mean we need what we need and maybe Coach A knows something we don't

Booker and the Asiatas were in the Kyle Whittingham era.

Interesting connection with Mariner, although I don’t think the new staff is recruiting him.

The new staff IS recruiting Jojo Hawkins. I think they are just trying to hammer out an official visit date.

He seemed to really have liked his Air Force visit by looking at his twitter.

I have always thought that you can't transfer into the Air Force.
