We need to have the magic back in the spectrum.

We are still in the hunt for an NCAA tourney spot and its basically February. No excuse for the magic not to be back.

I don't know what you guys mean by "magic". Does "magic" happen only when the student section is full? Cuz if that's the case, I'm pretty certain that's not gonna happen tonight. Does magic happen when all the blue-hairs and non-student fans actually cheer? Cuz that only happens when a game is coming down to the wire and tonight will most certainly be a blowout.. Expect to see more "magic" -however you define it- on Saturday.

Good point. Define, "magic." I don't even know the answer.

Magic is when you can feel the energy from the crowd. The sights and sounds in the Spectrum become surreal.

I seriously doubt we get the Magic in the Spectrum tonight but I will settle for a win against San Jose.

We shouldn't need magic for San Jose State. They are a team we can always depend on beating at home even with the relatively weak atmosphere. We had even been able to depend on beating them at their place until last year.

Of course, it may not be a horrible memory in the long run considering it may have have been what pushed us to fire Duryea, and depending on where we go from here, more and more of a good thing it happened. Like the Fresno State 58 yard field goal in football.

I have to give the school credit. They’re doing a lot to promote this game. I would rather the focus be on the UNLV game because that is huge but it’s goid to see an effort being made to get students out for the game.

I’m happy they are trying to get students to a game that is less flashy. I think UNLV should sell itself.

My only problem with this is that we are having a lot of students wear the opposing teams color (yellow). I wish Spectrum Magic night was reserved for a night where our opponent didn't have yellow or orange in their colors.

Considering who we were playing and the fact that it was a week night, I think the students turned out well tonight.

We were playing Wyoming pre-MW era, the student section was packed. There were a bunch of people with Wyoming gear on in the student section so they started going around asking to see everyone’s student id’s and making you move if you didn’t have one. Three guys all in there cowboy 🤠 gear had their id’s and were able to stay. It was a close back and forth game, so obviously these guys were being obnoxious, Wyoming had just gone on a run and they were standing and talking trash to everyone.. In unison, the entire student section started chanting “Broke Back Mountain”!! They say down pretty quickly and didn’t say much after that! One of my favorite moments from the spectrum...

Other than Desmond Penigar lifting me up to dunk it before every game the year I was a ball boy.. I also got chewed out by Brennan Ray for not wiping the floor up well enough under the hoop after a couple guys took a spill, he took the rag from me and did it himself. 😂😂

Why did we dress our students up in the colors of the chairs? That was kind of odd. I liked the "if your losing and you know it" song. It reminds me of when we sang I'm a little teapot when wild bill dressed up as Mrs Potts. Students were great tonight. I wish the blue hairs would do something. Anything really.

I remember taking my father in law to that game(cougar fan), he spent the entire second half with his fingers in his ears because of the noise. It was one of the most memorable games in the Spectrum I have ever witnessed. He said he has NEVER heard the Marriott Center come anywhere close!

I love the Spectrum Magic game, and the students obviously do... I heard people in my classes talking about how they wanted one of the shirts. I think it’s a lot of fun because if we have those unique colors (even if they are ugly), we may as well have fun with them.
