For all our talk about the Spectrum's attendance

Post by hipsterdoofus21 » February 6th, 2019, 9:52 pm

What the crap was that showing by Fresno fans last night? Box score shows 5,091 but I'm pretty sure Spetman would've topped out at 3,000 in attendance. For a marquee matchup between top 3 conference teams and after their success the past 2 seasons I would think they would've flirted with a sell out last night. Sure makes you appreciate what we still have in the Spectrum, even if we are still down from Stew's days.

Yeah, I was shocked by the lack of people there last night. 3000 might be generous. Fresno historically has had a good following. Was surprised for sure, especially given the importance of the game.

And a metro area population just shy of 1,000,000 people..... (roughly 8x that of Logan)

Great point on the metro area population. Maybe StanfordAggie can way in on this phenomenon.

New Mexico had a much better crowd. They was loud for the suds game. Made me think about how our game didn't seem that loud down there.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the game. I kept thinking I've seen more people at funerals.

Many MT seats at almost all TV games it seems for a variety of reasons. When we returned to Pullman in 1976 and for many years after 8-12 K fans were common for Cougar games. For the past few years, it's been more like 2-3K rattling around in a 12K seat arena. We haven't had season tickets for almost 10 years - age, cost for decent seats including a hefty donation, and every game on TV.
