I laughed right out loud when I read that, especially considering how the rest of his night went

I enjoyed that article. Wish we had someone of that caliber on the USU beat.

Yup. Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego and even Boise have some good beat writers.I enjoyed that article. Wish we had someone of that caliber on the USU beat
I like Jason Turner from the HJ but that poor guy covers 7 high schools.
Hate that the HJ recently did away with Sunday paper. You get to read about Saturdays games on Tuesday

I got in trouble earlier for language so I've had to be a little more creative with my insults . I guess there is an advantage to sitting behind the media table.

Really good article. Also shared my condolences to the anthem girl that had her night painfully stolen from her. I felt really bad for her.

I'm not suggesting you SHOULD make fat jokes, but If you're going to make the obvious fat joke about an overweight player, I think you focus on a more stereotypical cause of obesity. While chicken nuggets are probably not the healthiest thing you can eat, I don't think they're the first thing anyone thinks of as a cause of obesity. I'd go with something like "Mitchell - Did you get fries with that?" Or "You don't need to supersize every meal." Or "When they ask whether you want fries with that, the answer is 'no.'" Or "If this is how you look like with exercise, imagine what you're going to look like when you stop."
Pretty classy answer.Dutcher on his players not getting foul calls in the paint: “We’re driving in and initiating the contact, so a lot of the plays you think you’re getting fouled on, I don’t think they’re fouls. I said, ‘We can’t sit there and complain for every foul.’ Maybe there’s a call or two we could have got. But I thought the refs were good. That’s a veteran crew.”

I liked that answer too.
Is it just me or did Dutcher look like he was playing the role of a basketball coach in a Hallmark movie?

The crowd cheering for Mitchell when he hit a three towards the end of the game was a highlight. Stay classy, Spectrum.

Thought the same thing. Fun, well written post game story. Would love to see us get some of those.Intermeddler wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 1:25 amI enjoyed that article. Wish we had someone of that caliber on the USU beat.
I find myself reading the Statesman for post game stories more than the Tribune or DNews (I live in Salt Lake).
What a win!
