Our resumes are not too dissimilar. We should both be locks.

Preseason hype combined with their tournament success last year. I think we're almost a lock but let's just A) win the tournament or B) hope mid major 1 bid leagues are won by the favorite (Gonzaga, Buffalo, etc.)

I think Aggies are a lock, even if the lose opener in MWC tourney, worst case would be Dayton.

USU should be a lock, but I fear they need to win the quarterfinal game. That will be their last chance for a really bad loss. Avoid that and they all but officially lock it up.
Nevada’s resume isn’t much better, but it is better. They beat two teams that beat USU in non-conference, blew USU out at home and swept FSU. The Aggies did play a tougher non-conference schedule, but the teams’ performance against common opponents is heavily in Nevada’s favor.

No, that is not the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario is that we lose our quarterfinal game, someone besides UNR wins the conference tournament and underdogs in other conferences come out of no where to steal bids. Nothing is a “lock” for USU yet.

I think we're a lock. A guaranteed minimum first place tie with a team that was in the top 8 every week of the season other than the last 2. Winners of 14 of the last 15 and it would be 16 of the last 17 had we not lost the Fresno game in which we led for 39:50 of a 40 minute game. We've earned a bid.

This didn't age well "Projected as a No. 11 seed, USU really has only two remaining dangers."aggiesdotcom wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 11:15 amhttp://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... ller-think

We are projected #10 seed by ESPN.
More teams will lose which means a projected #8/#9 seed before playing our next game.

we are a lock because we will NOT be losing next thursday or Friday. I can see a slipup in the championship game, but that is why I am not sweating selection sunday.

Re: Tell me again why Reno is a lock and we are not?
I am enjoying the regular season conference championship, but am still in “one game at a time” mode when it comes to our tourney hopes. Still not convinced we are 100% in. I will feel pretty confident if we win at least one game next week and UNR wins the tournament. I really worry about Fresno or SDSU mucking things up. Also I worry about bidstealers from those small conferences.
I honestly do not understand the enfatuation with Wofford. They are not special. My (I can't express myself without swearing) Kansas team blew them out, and I honestly thought they were one of the weakest teams KU played in the non-con.

I think we are a lock, but being projected as a 10 seed there is a small chance for disaster similar to 2004 while Nevada being projected as a 7 seed, there is none. It would be absolutely shocking if we did not get in at this point.

I noticed ESPN has VCU as should be in. We have a higher NET rating and a better win. Their best win is Texas who has 14 losses. IDK but I think our resume is better than theirs.

Here is another reason for you. We have double the number of loses that they have. 3 loses > 6 loses.
There strength of schedule is slightly better as well.

That point works for Arizona State since we both played them neutral, but they played BYU at home against us playing them away.

The way we lost to BYU, it wouldn't have made a difference.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 5:25 pmThat point works for Arizona State since we both played them neutral, but they played BYU at home against us playing them away.

I think we beat byu at home. Nevada blew us out in Reno too. We were a great home team this year. The fresno state loss is our most puzzling.brownjeans wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 6:53 pmThe way we lost to BYU, it wouldn't have made a difference.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 5:25 pmThat point works for Arizona State since we both played them neutral, but they played BYU at home against us playing them away.
