Sheet Music

Post by NAggsty Butler » March 7th, 2019, 11:08 pm

So my wife was trying to find something like this for USU with either the Scotsman or the fight song-

She couldn't find anything for USU unfortunately. Does anybody know where to find something like this or how to make it for USU?

We can't even find the sheet music for the Scotsman or the fight song online. Only the Alma Mater song.

I put the music for the Alma Mater hymn into music Boston software a few years ago for someone. I could do some playing around with it and graphics work to try and do something. If you do manage to find sheet music for the fight sing or Scotsman then we can work with those, too.

Somehow, I do not have sheet music for either the fight song or the scotsman. It’s been memorized for so long and I always turned all the music I ever got back in...

Send an email to the athletic band director at lane.weaver@usu.edu and see if he can send you a scan of the music.

I would suggest asking for the 1st trumpet part since it has the melody for both tunes. Although, all of those parts are printed on a half page and the project you’re doing looks to be for a full page, so another option could be the first page of the full score.

I’ll look through my vast collection of sheet music and see if I can find anything... and if he does send you some music and it isn’t the right size for that project or something, let me know and I can tinker with it

yes, and people sing "Teach me all that I must DO," instead of KNOW," but I'll never sing that word either.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Sheet Music

Post by corio » March 9th, 2019, 8:15 pm

Also a music major here, I could definitely whip the melody’s sheet music up, it’d be a little tougher to get all the parts but if you were patient I could try. Any specific requests (old or new lyrics, handwritten “look”, etc.)?

(edit: I just read through the rest of the thread and don’t want to step on trombone’s toes at all)

Yeah, he’s still the trombone professor and was my teacher. It’s been a while since he ran the basketball band, I don’t know if he has anything. The current athletic band director is still the best bet for getting your hands on sheet music, I think.

Not this week, though, they’re a bit busy with a tournament lol
