Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
Washington is a great matchup for us. They are not playing well right now either. They are on the decline and we are playing our best right now.

Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
I like that we potentially get to see where we are as a program by facing one of the more storied programs in the country. I like the Washington matchup and think it will be a competitive game. I think we have a great chance to move into the 2nd round.

Id be much more stoked for a legitimate shot at the Sweet 16. Winning the conference bit us in a way.

Am I the only one that would be thrilled to just beat Washington? A second round game against UNC is a zero pressure situation.TheSauerkrautKid wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 4:55 pmId be much more stoked for a legitimate shot at the Sweet 16. Winning the conference bit us in a way.

I agree, a loss yesterday probably puts us as ten seed with better odds for a sweet sixteenTheSauerkrautKid wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 4:55 pmId be much more stoked for a legitimate shot at the Sweet 16. Winning the conference bit us in a way.

I’m super stoked too. We will beat Washington and give unc a run for their east coast money! Exactly we are in no position to look beyond first game.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 4:57 pmAm I the only one that would be thrilled to just beat Washington? Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
We can’t have our cake and eat it too. I wouldn’t trade winning that championship yesterday for a worse seed.
I’ll take an 8 seed in a very winnable game. Think how much sweeter it would be to knock of North Carolina. Let’s Go!!!

As coach smith says as long as you have a chip and a chair you’ve got a shot. Let’s take down the pac 12

Quick take — the new NET ranking system is a very good thing for mid-majors.

Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
Last year two 1 seeds failed to reach the sweet sixteen. 1 seeds lose in the second round all the time. Having to beat tennessee or michigan state wouldnt be much easier than north carolina.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 4:57 pmAm I the only one that would be thrilled to just beat Washington? Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
I wouldn’t trade the tournament title banner we’ll be hanging in the Spectrum for a slightly better chance at a Sweet 16.
There’s really not much dropoff between the ones and twos this year anyway.

Yep. We have one tournament win in almost 50 years. Beating the pac 12 regular season champs would be big.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 5:01 pmExactly we are in no position to look beyond first game.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 4:57 pmAm I the only one that would be thrilled to just beat Washington? Sometimes looking at the seeding numbers can be a little intimidating, but another way to look at it is the #3 team in the country playing the #25 team on a neutral court. Top-25 teams can be in the game and sometimes knock off the top-ranked teams without it being an upset for the ages.

dogie wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 5:19 pmYeah i hate to get ahead of ourselves, but also look at how unc lost to 16-16 texas and barely beat a few bad teams like miami. Obviously it would be a very tough game, but i dont see it any crazier than what you are typically gonna get in the 2nd round and beyond. To advance you have to beat really good teams. And on the same token if we arent ready to go we will go down to washington.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 17th, 2019, 5:05 pmLast year two 1 seeds failed to reach the sweet sixteen. 1 seeds lose in the second round all the time. Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
Apparently they have a 6-5 guard that is supposedly a great defender and I read they force turnovers on 25% of possessions when he is on the floor
They’ve also scored 48, 47 points against Oregon
57 against Sacramento St
And multiple low 60 point games.
Without knowing anything more then looking at box scores we need to take care of the ball as they seem to generate a lot of turnovers. Hit outside shots, handle boards (don’t seem like great rebounding team and playing zone can make it more difficult to keep teams off the glass and keep Q out of foul trouble.

Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
Yeah. Looks like they want to make the game ugly and probably score off turnovers but look to have a hard time scoring otherwise. If we can are able to run our sets and take care of the ball and ultimately hit shots I’m weak areas of the zone or have Q clean up on the glass watch out

Re: Aggies are a #8 seed!
One advantage we have against the zone is Queta's ability to pass. He's an excellent passer with great vision and we've seen it throughout the year. We've just got to knock down those outside shots when he finds the guy. We also do a great job of moving the ball around the whole court and spreading the defense. I like this match up.
