The Refs
I don't what the story was, but it was clear that the refs wanted Washington to win.
Washington had their game that could have beat anyone even Duke. They hit NBA long 3s at roughly 60%.
It was maddening to have the season ended by a game like that where we would have beat 6 out of 7 times a week except today.

Re: The Refs
I agree. Yeah we didn't play well, but how much of that was helped by the refs? Pressing/zone/reaching teams get away with crap all the time. But whatever. We got unlucky by UW having their best game of the year and we didn't have any lucky bounces. On to next season.

Re: The Refs
It is hard to lose like that even though it was a NCAA tournament game. Imagine many fans like myself wanted the season to keep going.

Re: The Refs
It was clear to me that the Huskies were bigger, stronger, faster and we had fits with their defense. They won the PAC 12 regular season title for a reason. Just wish we could have kept that run going for the last 10. Thybell is a defensive savant.

Re: The Refs
The refs were very fair. We were out coached and out played. Washington won that game.

Re: The Refs
I watched the game with about 15 Washington fans, and they all thought the refs were favoring the Aggie. I honestly didn’t see anything to suggest they wanted Washington to win.

Re: The Refs
To be fair, a decent number of those turnovers were simply refs letting Washington get away with so much. Queta had a dunk denied with his hand slap hard enough to get make Queta lose the ball with no foul called. The moment that forced the refs to call fouls on Washington some of the time was when Miller got a bloody nose on a non-call.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:16 pmAt least 21 turnovers. We will 1 out of 15 games that we commit 21 turnovers.

Queta almost got posterized but fouled the guy on the play. Refs didn't call it. Re: The Refs
Yes. He said "The Refs wanted them to win"- but the rest of the argument was how Washington could have beaten anyone with the way they played "even Duke"...Blitz79 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:21 pmAre you saying this is a click bait thread? Re: The Refs
There are always a few bad calls here and there, but overall the officiating was fair. It had nothing to do with us losing by 17.

Re: The Refs
DId you watch the 1st half? It was clear that Utah State were not allowed at all to be phyiscal, and Washington straight up hitting our players whatever part of the body to help with forcing turnovers.aceofspadeskb wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:18 pmThe refs were very fair. Re: The Refs
I thought the refs were fair on both sides. I'm usually very critical of the officiating, I thought it was fine. This is big boy basketball and they're going to let them play down low. Fact is, we turned the ball over, did not rebound defensively and missed a whole bunch of shots we have been making.
Go Aggies!

Re: The Refs
I think part of this is as a team we need to get much physically stronger. We would to easily get separated from ball or not be able to get through any contact and we’re easily moved on DSLB wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:25 pmDId you watch the 1st half? I’m sure Crisp fouling out with 8 minutes to go was all part of the refs plan

Washington had players that could not adjust to having the refs calling the fouls on them some of the time. Crisp was the worst case.Chupamedia wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:28 pmI’m sure Crisp fouling out with 8 minutes to go was all part of the refs plan

Re: The Refs
I thought there were some horrid no calls but it certainly didn't affect the end result. The tourney is always the same for us, we seem overwhelmed with how physical the game is played and how quick other teams are. We were just a step slow on offense and defense and our best player was completely overwhelmed from start to finish.

Re: The Refs
The only really bad call I recall was right at the start when Porter got his 3 blocked and he got steamrolled but no call. Our guys were weak with the ball.

Re: The Refs
Hopefully next year Porter will have learned to pump fake the guy and then jump into him and draw the foul. Then the next time he is not coming at Abel so hard. Felt like what was lacking in our game plan was ball fakes on the shot and pass. We really did a lot of telegraphing today. Sometime you just gotta play some Harden ball and force the ref to call it.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:44 pmThe only really bad call I recall was right at the start when Porter got his 3 blocked and he got steamrolled but no call. Re: The Refs
I've been thinking this whole tournament how much more refs let the guys play than during the regular season in the MWC. You have adjust. If it goes the other way you whine about ticky tack calls. And to lay the blame on the refs is embarrassing.

I didn’t say that only referencing OP. He stated that Washington made 60% from beyond the arc from “nba range”. Re: The Refs
Nice of you to have the balls to come on after you won.
“No offense” but it’s generally seen as trashy to come on someone else’s board and basically rub in your win. Almost everyone on this board has been fairly complimentary of the way Washington played. A lot of us also hold a grudge based on similar behavior of KState fans in our last trip to the dance.
Don’t be that guy for your fan base that gets other fan bases to hold a decade long grudge. Enjoy your win and grab some beer, and just let us be.

Just merely pointing out that when you lose by 17, you’ve got A LOT of problems outside the refs.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 8:24 pmNice of you to have the balls to come on after you won.
