Excited to see how Queta develops over the summer and what the new guys will bring. Still haven’t heard any word on Stall’s or Grootfaam’s status for next season? Anyone know anything there?

You tell me that this is where we end at the beginning of the year and I would have been thrilled. I just got too greedy and wanted more. Still a great year far exceeding expectations. Just improve a little with next years expectations and it will be a season for the ages.

Re: Damn Proud to be a Utah State Aggie
I’m as frustrated as anyone being out last tournament win was in 2001 and it seemed like it would be this year. But anyone dumping on this team or staff is is crazy. What this team accomplished this year was amazing. You can bet Sam and the guys feel 100 times worse then what anyone here could say.
It stinks as it’s so hard for a team like us to make the dance. Tough conference to travel and win on road and a lot of things have to go right. Hopefully all key pieces back and we add some good talent and give it another run next year
Thank you team and coaches for the magical season

Super proud of this team. I feel for the team, but hopefully this fuels there fire to work harder this off season to improve. I also want to note that it was nice to see a nice Aggie crowd ~2000 miles from Logan. Great job to all who was attended.

Re: Damn Proud to be a Utah State Aggie
Team gave it their all and left it all on the court-the reason myself and lots of other fans are disappointed is because Smith brought this team together and got us all to believe.
And he’s just getting started! Brush off the frustration and disappointment. Celebrate what has been an outstanding season. I haven’t believed in Aggie bball like this for years.

Who is dumping on the team? They got outplayed, and looked unprepared. It is what it is. Great season, disappointing game.

I forgot to mention...what a great bunch of young men. They are great ambassadors for Aggie Nation!

I think the effort was there tonight. But they were unprepared. That's on Coach Smith and I think he'll remedy the zone offense over the off season. At half his comments even admitted his ownership.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:46 pmWho is dumping on the team? They got outplayed, and looked unprepared. It is what it is. Where did this post come from on this thread. All I see is posts showing appreciation for the team. Did I miss something?Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:46 pmWho is dumping on the team? They got outplayed, and looked unprepared. It is what it is. Great season, disappointing game.

People need to realize we have not played a team that good at defense since Houston (similar result that game as well) and they are a 3 seed.

Re: Damn Proud to be a Utah State Aggie
Couldn't be more proud of this team. They finally played real Aggie basketball and gave us back the Spectrum! Did I want to finally break the tournament loss streak? Of course I did. But let's step back and just look at how amazing this past season was and up our donations and buy our season tickets for next year.

Re: Damn Proud to be a Utah State Aggie
He took ownership because that's what good coaches do, but you can't put that on Smith. They had a plan for the zone, but struggled to execute because of guys like Thybulle flying around. There's no amount of preparation that can make up for the a new level of size, strength and speed.ChicagoAggie wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 7:50 pmI think the effort was there tonight. Several possessions that would have resulted in open looks against MW-level athletes were swallowed up by Washington. NBA level defenders have given the Aggies problems all year (see Dort, Hemsley and the Martin twins in the road game).
Smith's biggest mistake this game was sitting Neemi too long in the first half. USU could not get a stop & rebound without him in the game. I know he had to find some time for Neemi to rest, but that was not the spot. USU needed to play from ahead in this game.

Re: Damn Proud to be a Utah State Aggie
Well. Washington has played poorly in 6 of last 8 games. Including conference championship
They were on top of their game yesterday
All 5 had quick hands. So many passes inside the key. Yep they are ball Hogg’s Sam drives and passes to Queta. Looks easy but they monster us each time and steal the pass
Washington played exactly like the first half of their conference play. If they hadn’t had that bad run they would be a 3 seed
