Travis left Logan to become the new Head Coach at Ridgeline. The former Ridgeline Head Coach left to become the Head Coach at Sky View. Former Sky View Head Coach Danilo Robinson slithered out of town to take a head coaching job in the Los Angeles area. Robinson didn't even tell anyone affiliated with Sky View. His new school tweeted out his hiring and that is how the news made the rounds.

Sky View will regret not hiring Travis Van Leeuwen. He is a great up-and-coming coach and he brings a wealth of former Aggie players with him as his coordinators and assistants. I've already seen Travis up at spring ball twice observing practices.

Believe it or not, Logan has become the dead end job in the valley.

What happened to Favero? I clearly haven’t followed LHS football.

He could see that the pipeline of success was clearly running dry with the lower grades that would become his high school players and he walked away and preserved his legacy. It was the wise thing to do.

The addition of Ridgeline and green canyon ended the kids coming from river heights, providence, north logan, etc.

Favero was hired by Ridgeline as a defensive coordinator for this upcoming season. He had applied for the Sky View job two years ago when Robinson was hired, but obviously didn't get that job.

Wait what? He did? And now he’s at ridgeline? As a defensive coordinator? He’s an offensive genius. Seems very odd. Ha I’m way out of the loop. It’s crazy he wouldn’t get the SV job over anyone to be honest. Who has had more success in the valley?

I was told by a member of the hiring committee at Sky View that the reason Danilo Robinson was hired over Mike Favero was because Danilo had bounced around the world of college coaching and developed connections that would help Sky View kids land college football scholarship opportunities. Granted he was only at Sky View for two seasons but only two kids have signed LOI's in those two years. Andrew Dean signed with Weber State in 2018 and Caleb Christensen took his only FBS offer and signed with byu in February. Other players on the last two teams had interest in playing collegiately at any of the levels that are available (D-1, 2, 3 or NAIA) and received no help from the former Sky View coaching staff. I was also told, during the 2018 season (months prior to Robinson leaving), by that same member of the hiring committe, that IF they had to do it over again, they would NOT have hired Danilo Robinson and would have pushed for Mike Favero instead. I've been told by a member of Mike Favero's coaching staff at Logan that Mike Favero felt he could win 4 or 5 state championships with the talent that was/is in the pipeline at Sky View had he been given the job.

I don't remember the name, but I saw on Twitter that he has been the HC at Cottonwood.

I feel like there's some unfair bagging on Coach Danilo Robinson on this thread. Perhaps there were some administrative differences, but I have heard it very differently from the players' perspective, several of which I've talked to. All of those I spoke with absolutely loved him as a Head Coach. He got emotional with the team when talking with them about how he felt that moving his family back to his hometown was what he felt was best. And after he had accepted his new job, he spent many extra hours going over film with several of his players; Sophomores, Juniors, and graduating Seniors, making highlight tapes etc. to help them in their recruiting.

Like I said, perhaps those in Administrative positions had a drastically different experience, but I just wanted to share some of what some players of his shared with me. Perhaps they could have won another game or two with someone else, but everything I heard from his players was very positive and that they were sad he would be gone, which is ultimately the most important thing to ask for in a Head Coach of a High School Football Team.

100 percent agree with this post. Danilo was the man here and got respect from all his players. He got the opportunity to go home and took it. No different than any other coach. Reality also is nobody was beating the factory that is OREM

AggieBlue is correct no one was beating Orem the past two seasons. Favero at Sky View wouldn't have gotten them past Orem. Thankfully for Region 12 Orem will be in 5A for the next two seasons. Bart Bowen is good dude. As state previously he's as blue an Aggie as you'll find. He was the center on Bear River's back-to-back state title teams in '03 and'04. He'll be great for the kids and is a fantastic motivator, he was in a no win situation at Cottonwood and this gets him back closer to family. My biggest concern is what type of offense he'll try and install at Logan. BR has had a struggling offense for years, a very run heavy veer option offense, but they lack the linemen to run that. If Bowen is his own OC you'll see something similar to that type of offense. I hope he'll find a good OC and turn over the reigns or Logan could be in for some bad offensive football. Logan's current sophomores are pretty talented at football so the cupboard is not completely bare.

Green Canyon is in North Logan located roughly 2800 north. You can see it from the highway.
Ridgeline is in Millville and if you are traveling south to Hyrum you can see if from the highway as well.

There really shouldn't be 5 high schools in the valley....maybe 4 but they should have made one school district and added kids to Logan High. Logan High won't get any bigger and they just added a much money to update it as they did adding a new school. So in theory, they "built" 3 new high schools in the valley. My 2 cents and I'm a LHS alum even.

With the amount of high density new building going on throughout the valley, there will absolutely be a need for five high schools in the valley. There is a need for five high schools now. The schools already compete on a 4A level, which is the 3rd largest classification in the state. The two new high schools were built as a proactive measure to ensure that over crowding did not occur. There were brief talks to combine both the Cache County and Logan school districts but Logan refused to combine. The four Cache County high schools will move up in classification much sooner than later.

But we are in the thick of a great aggie athletic success. Due much to all on this board supporting our athlecitcs So this surfaces as story of the day at the top. Sure. Some coaches are former players. Happy for them. But get the drool off here
Send it to different forum. Let’s talk Aggies

If you are ranking the high schools that have given us the most talent in recent years, I think it goes:

N/A Ridgeline
N/A Green Canyon
4. Mountain Crest (thanks for Gaje)
3. Sky View (thanks for Jalen Moore and Mortensen)
2. Logan (thanks for the Nelson bros, the Larsen bros, and others)
1. BYU (thanks for Quin Ficklin and Dallin Leavitt, I'm sure Riley Burt will finally develop now that he's in a collegiate program).
