Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
I know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. I see that the ceiling of this team is really high, and we have potential of being the Gonzaga of the MWC. Even we have some tough games in the season, this team for next season could win all the tough games.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
Before the last season started, no one thought that we would be AP top 25 and winning the conference.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
My question is will we have a better or worse record than this season? Hard to say until we see a full schedule released.

Just stop. No, we aren’t going undefeated next season. Don’t put that on this team.SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2019, 8:45 pmI know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. If we don't go undefeated next season I'm blaming SLB for the jinx.SLB wrote:I know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. There won't be a game next year that I don't think that we'll at least be competitive in. That being said, going undefeated is a large task even for a great team. Players have off nights.

There are too many teams that are almost as good as we are. Do I have to remind you of all the close games? New Mexico and San Diego State are very athletic, and they're going to be working just as hard as us. I think we'll win the conference championship again, but I'd put money on not going undefeated.

Yea, probs. No Zion next year, so we should easily go 36-0.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
Abel Porter overachieved this year, and he could get better before next year, but I think we are an elite point guard away from feeling like we should win every game.SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2019, 8:45 pmI know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
How many teams have gone undefeated in the history of college basketball? Next year's team should be very good assuming all of our key players return. But it would take a miracle to go undefeated even against a very soft schedule. If we have some tough OOC games plus the usual MWC slate, the chance is essentially zero.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
We will do well next season, but unlike this year we’ll have a target on our back and get everyone’s best shot. Nevada will drop quite a bit but a lot of other teams will be much better. A MWC championship repeat is a possibility but an undefeated record up to that point is a pipe dream, IMO

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
This is crazy talk — be it about being undefeated for the entire season, let alone undefeated in conference games. Let’s shoot for undefeated in the Spectrum.SLB wrote: ↑April 7th, 2019, 8:45 pmI know that it is crazy to think, and I would not guaranteed it. I could see us being better next year and having a worse record.

I don't see it happening.
Our ceiling is 39-1 and a loss in the title game IMO.

Nope. I hope I'm wrong though.
Since 1939 only Indiana, UCLA, North Carolina, and San Francisco have been unbeaten.

Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
Only four have done it in the regular season since 1980. We have a better chance at winning the national championship than going undefeated imo. Neither will happen. I'd be shocked at only 5 losses.Aggie in Boise wrote:Nope. I hope I'm wrong though.

Wow, there is absolutely no chance we go undefeated. This is something I would expect to see from a different geographically close fan base.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
No. But I do think with the right additions this is a team that will make the tourney AND win a game. If Queta and Miller both improve and we find an athletic PG; watch out.

Re: Are we going to be unbeaten next season?
Stop. Please. Expectations are already going to be through the roof. We don’t need this kind of thing floating around here. It will be a dogfight once again to compete for the conference title. I expect us to be in the hunt and that’s all. But there is no way we’re going to go undefeated. Let’s stop the crazy talk. Wow.

The thread title is Zoob board material.
1989-1990 UNLV, playing in the Big West with three starters who would soon be drafted into the NBA - Larry Johnson #1 overall pick, Stacey Augmon overall #9 pick and Greg Anthony, #12 overall pick didn't go undefeated.

We have a much greater chance at going unbeaten in football this next season than basketball!

I say it is a 50-50 chance we go unbeaten this season. I'm assuming we are talking about Rat Ball season, right?
