Football Offers

Post by TrueAG » May 9th, 2019, 1:31 pm

It seems we have offered about 1000 athletes this year according to twitter. Is it as much as it seems, is this normal?

 I know what you mean. Sometimes it just seems like these offer announcements come in a deluge. They definitely correspond to the recruiting trips. And, of course, we won't get all of them to commit.

While the last staff was kind of conservative when it came to handing out offers, I think the new staff is handing out a butt load of early offers in hopes that it will lead to early verbal commitments.

I feel like it's my obligation as a fan to like every single one of them on Twitter, but it is getting exhausting

That’s about all I do on Twitter. Like and follow the athletes we offer (besides read).

It’s early, but still kind of strange we’ve gotten zero commitments slinging an offer an hour.

It seems the basketball staff and football staff have polar opposite theories of recruiting — the basketball staff seems to focus on one guy at a time, the football staff seems to cast a reallllly realllllllllly wide net. Totally different animals given team size, etc,, but there’s a definite contrast in styles.

A good chunk of these guys are including #AGTG in their tweets, anyone know what that means? Some variation of GATA? After Get Their Get...?

Will respond whenever you ask what the band is doing

I’m not very knowledgeable on the recruiting process, but what purpose does a verbal commitment serve? A player is t truly committed until they sign a LOI right?

Very true BUT although it doesn't happen 100% of the time, typically once a kid makes a verbal commitment he closes out his recruiting process.

Anyone else surprised by the number of offers from Florida and Louisiana?

Nope. Coach Andersen is back. He established our presence in Florida the first time around. Matt let our presence dwindle into non-existence. and now Coach Andersen is working to re-establish that presence.
