This was voted on recently, I think they start about the first of June. I know the salt lake media usually has no clue on our roster. But this is my opinion on who should be on there and where they should be ranked.

Re: 1280 top 60
Looks like a good list, slc, but since I literally cannot name a single player from BYU-P or Utah as I sit here (is Tyler Mangum a BYU-P player?), I have no idea how their players stack up.
I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere, but what is the current prognosis for Shaq Bond to start the season fully healthy?

Re: 1280 top 60
One quick change I would make is to put Devon Anderson in the Top 30 group.

Shaq Bond should be a full participant from the beginning of fall camp.ChicAggie wrote: ↑May 19th, 2019, 2:29 pmLooks like a good list, slc, but since I literally cannot name a single player from BYU-P or Utah as I sit here (is Tyler Mangum a BYU-P player?), I have no idea how their players stack up.

I would guess Jordan L. and David W. will be in the top 10. If they are not then the list is a total sham. Tipa in my mind is probably a top 10 player as well.

I asked Coach Andersen specifically about Shaq at the Portland Road Trip. This is correct. He said he's fully healed, and will be 100% for fall camp.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 19th, 2019, 5:10 pmShaq Bond should be a full participant from the beginning of fall camp.ChicAggie wrote: ↑May 19th, 2019, 2:29 pmLooks like a good list, slc, but since I literally cannot name a single player from BYU-P or Utah as I sit here (is Tyler Mangum a BYU-P player?), I have no idea how their players stack up.

Good list
I would put Savon Scarver in the top ten after all he is a returning all-american. and Eberlie was a previous finalist for the best kicker in the country in 2017-18

Re: 1280 top 60
Of course the list is a total sham. No reason for it to be precise or objective or empirical. It, like the rest of sports radio, is successful only to the extent it can facilitate the sale of cars, erectile enhancements and tax-debt relief services.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑May 19th, 2019, 6:54 pmI would guess Jordan L. and David W. will be in the top 10. I predict the distribution of players among USU, UU, BYU and WSU will be exactly proportional to the discussion time each school gets in an average week. So we get maybe 10% of the discussion time, and we'll get six players. UU will get 30 or so. BYU will get 23, even though they were terrible last year and might be worse this year. Weber might get one.
Nobody here knows anything.

Re: 1280 top 60
I would move all those players into the top 22, then round out the remaining 38 with other Aggie players not previously named. Honorary mention will be Tyler Huntley, who probably should have been in the top 60 just by merits of playing in the PAC12, which is the best conference, and includes his team, the University of Utah, which is in the PAC12.

Re: 1280 top 60
Yes we all know that the voting is not accurate, mostly I think because of lack of knowledge of rosters. However I still think it is fun to have a countdown to football season that includes some of the players. I don’t think we get 22 on the list however I could see us getting close to 18. I also think this shows that we have a lot to look forward to as far as talent is concerned. We have a really good group this year.

Re: 1280 top 60
Listening today, Scotty mentioned that they are allowing fans to also vote on their secreted choices of the top 60 players. It sounded like they have the list and now fans can have a vote on where the players should be seeded. I think you can just go to the zone website to vote for the player seeding.

Done. I just moved all the USU and Weber players to the top. Then put Covey over at the U in one spot above one Weber player.
This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

Here’s how the numbers break down, for anyone who is curious (assuming I counted right):
Utah - 24
USU - 17
byu - 17
Weber - 2
Utah - 24
USU - 17
byu - 17
Weber - 2

24 to 17. Remind me where Utah ended up ranked last season. Two common opponents last season: Utah beat BYU by 1 point, USU won by 25. Utah beat SJSU by 17, USU won by 38. But, yeah, Utah probably should have nearly 50% more players on this list than USU. Way to go, Utah! You will agree to play weak sister SJSU, but are too scared to play your traditional in-state rival.

They are in the Pac 12. Their players are automatically better coming out of high school.ChicAggie wrote: ↑May 24th, 2019, 9:16 am24 to 17. Remind me where Utah ended up ranked last season. Ute fans legit argue on Twitter that their QB is better than Jordan Love. They cite "weak competition" as the main reason they can determine this. Because they played a world-beater PAC12 schedule.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑May 24th, 2019, 9:23 amThey are in the Pac 12. Any defense with a pulse that Huntley faced, he struggled against. The defenses he thrived against were all ranked below top 50. Re: 1280 top 60
Remember when Ute fans whined about BCS bias and USU fans were all like, ‘solidarity brothers,’ despite Utah’s constant and storied history of blackballing USU from any conference where they had membership. Then all of a sudden there are more PAC-12 stickers than Ute stickers around town and within a couple more years all that solidarity is forgotten as they fearfully ‘big time’ the Aggies. Utes always have, and always will, do everything in their power to keep USU down. Don’t drink the Kool-aid. Utah is the worst and that predator won’t be changing it’s spots (spots which seem to be partially camouflaged from many Aggie fan’s perception by mutual BYU hate) any time soon.

After reviewing this, Utah and USU def have the most top end in the state. I'm not sure Utah is much ahead of us. They submitted a guy who redshirted last year and has 77 yards catching in his career. Utah's dline is crazy talented.

I feel pretty good about the list. We lost a ton of guys, I wouldn’t expect us to have every projected starter on the list. I believe Hans and Scotty were the ones who put the list together. Could you honestly have a more Aggie-friendly duo on the radio in Utah? That being said, I think the people actually voting will mess it up and put all the Aggies a few spots lower than they should be.

Re: 1280 top 60
I heard Scotty on the radio talking about it yesterday. So local media members are the ones voting on this. Each one (of how many I’m not sure) has one ballot and they list from 1 to 60. Then for each player the highest and lowest gets tossed out and the rest of the votes are averaged. The fan vote average counts as one ballot. So it’s not like the fan costs has a huge say in this, but it’s nice that it does factor in now.
So to clarify my earlier statement, I think it’s the media who will rank USU players lower than they should.
