Is he leaving for money or because the new MWC television contract has us playing football every Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 9:45PM in November?

Assuming this is true, it’s great to know we have 2 incredible coaches of our highest revenue teams.

Are you guessing or just reacting to Bruce Feldman tweet 20 minutes before you posted.
My guess
Just shooting from the hip...
Jim Tressell is a good fit.

No, it was the instant I learned the ole miss AD was taking the A&M job. If I’m Ole Miss, I would hire Hartwell.

Honestly though Hartwell may not be as big of a splash hire as they may want to make. So they may pass on him.

Of course, that sounds alot like Wells not being a splash hire for Texas Tech.

They should have been happy for the sole fact that they landed David Yost as their OC.

Would love that hire but I don’t see him ever leaving Ohio. He has only spent three years of his life outside of Ohio: 2 as QB coach a Syracuse and 1 as a consultant for the Colts, and he probably didn’t even move to Indiana for that job.

I also think he’s done with athletics. He’s making $300k+ as the president of Youngstown State now, where he coached for 15 years, just an hour or so from where he grew up (Mentor, OH) and where he went to college (Baldwin Wallace), and just a couple hours from where he spent the rest of his career (Akron, Miami, Ohio State).

That's reassuring. I'd be worried if he said he didn't like it here, he loved it here.

Keith Carter has been named interim AD at Ole Miss. He was their Deputy AD. Sounds like most people don’t think they will hire a permanent AD until they have a new chancellor in place.Their old one resigned last November and they still don’t even have a search committee in place for that hire. From what I can gather, it looks like it will take until at least late fall, if not longer, to name a new chancellor. Seems Hartwell is safe at least for awhile.

He was mentioned as one of 16 potential candidates in this article: in the Mississippi Clarion Ledger:
